Job Description:

We are seeking an honest, detailed-oriented, and highly courteous Retail Cashier to manage our point-of-sale terminal in Ikirun. As the final touchpoint in our customer's shopping journey, you will play an essential role in delivering excellent customer service, executing error-free transactions, and protecting business revenues.

The ideal candidate possesses excellent numerical skills, high attention to detail to prevent inventory leakages, and a friendly, welcoming attitude that encourages customer loyalty.

Requirements:

Transaction Execution & POS Management

• Accurate Checkouts: Process customer purchases swiftly and accurately using our automated Point-of-Sale (POS) software, scanning items, and verifying barcodes.

• Price Clarity: Explain product pricing, active promotions, or discounts to customers politely, ensuring total clarity during checkout.

• Payment Processing: Securely handle multiple payment methods—including cash transactions, point-of-sale card payments, electronic bank transfers, and verified cheques—ensuring proper system categorization for each medium.

Inventory Control & Quality Assurance

• Item Cross-Checking: Match scanned POS digital items with the physical goods being packed for the customer to prevent under-billing or over-billing errors.

• Discrepancy Reporting: Flag and report any product barcode anomalies, damaged packaging, or pricing differences to the supervisor immediately.

Financial Balancing & Station Upkeep

• Daily Ledger Remittance: Balance your physical cash drawer and electronic receipts at the end of every shift, preparing accurate daily sales reports for a seamless handover to the shift manager or accountant.

• Workspace Cleanliness: Maintain an immaculate, highly organized, and tidy checkout counter area to ensure a premium shopping experience for incoming patrons.

• Ad-Hoc Duties: Assist the floor team with minor shelf-stocking, inventory organization, or administrative tasks during off-peak trading hours as directed by management.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Experience Parameters

• Academic Background: Minimum of an NCE, OND, or HND qualification in any discipline.

• Experience Level: 0 – 1 year of work experience. This is an entry-level opportunity; comprehensive on-the-job training on our POS systems will be provided for candidates who exhibit strong potential.
