About Company:
Deepwater Engineering Limited (DEL) is a multi-discipline service provider formed by experienced professionals with years of direct experience within the major offshore Oil and Gas industry. The management has extensive experience of providing quality services in its areas of expertise.
Job Description:
We are seeking a high-precision and strategically rigorous QHSE Coordinator to anchor our Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental management systems in Lekki. In Nigeria’s most rapidly expanding industrial hub, success is defined by "Predictive Compliance", the ability to harmonize ISO standards with field-level operational grit to ensure zero-harm and absolute quality integrity. This role is designed for a "Systems Architect" with 3–5 years of experience who can blend "Technical Safety Engineering" with the "Analytical Rigor" required to lead internal audits and manage complex incident investigations.
Your mission is to ensure "Absolute Regulatory Sovereignty and Operational Excellence." You will be the primary steward of the company’s management systems: responsible for enforcing ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards, conducting systematic risk assessments, and driving a high-fidelity safety culture across our workforce and vendor network. If you possess "Lead Auditor Skills," a background in the Oil & Gas or Marine industry, and the "Interpersonal Influence" to guide operational teams, we want you to drive our QHSE sovereignty.
Requirements:
1. Systems Architecture & ISO Governance
Management System Stewardship: Maintain and update the company’s QHSE documentation and management systems to ensure 100% alignment with ISO 9001 (Quality), 14001 (Environment), and 45001 (Safety).
Audit Leadership: Conduct rigorous internal audits and monitor operational processes to identify gaps, implementing high-impact corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to drive continuous improvement.
Documentation Integrity: Ensure all QHSE records are "Perpetual Audit-Ready," maintaining version control and data accuracy for management and external regulatory reviews.
2. Risk Governance & Incident Investigation
Hazard Identification: Lead systematic risk assessments across all operational sites, ensuring that control measures are robust and effectively communicated to field teams.
Diagnostic Resolution: Direct comprehensive incident investigations, utilizing root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurrence and strengthen the overall safety framework.
Safe Work Practices: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, ensuring that all high-risk activities are governed by valid permits and proactive site supervision.
3. Training Engineering & Safety Culture
Competency Development: Design and facilitate safety training programs and inductions to elevate the technical and behavioral safety skills of the workforce.
Culture Advocacy: Promote a "Safety-First" mindset throughout the organization, acting as a technical advisor to operational teams to resolve QHSE bottlenecks.
Vendor & Contractor Oversight: Ensure that all third-party contractors and vendors meet or exceed the company’s QHSE standards before and during project execution.
4. Environmental & Management Reporting
Sustainability Stewardship: Monitor and support environmental compliance, ensuring waste management and emissions are handled in accordance with national and international laws.
Performance Analytics: Prepare high-fidelity QHSE reports for senior management, highlighting KPIs, trend analysis, and strategic recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Degree or HND in Engineering, Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience: 3–5 years of robust experience in QHSE within the Oil & Gas, Marine, or Engineering sectors.
Certifications: Must be NEBOSH or IOSH certified. Possession of an ISO 9001/14001/45001 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification is essential.
Core Competencies
Analytical Grit: Strong knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and root cause investigation.
Regulatory Literacy: In-depth understanding of Nigerian and international HSE laws and ISO management frameworks.
Communication Prowess: Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, from site workers to senior management.
