Job Description:
We are seeking a high-intelligence and vigilant Safety Officer to anchor our health and safety ecosystem in Awka, Anambra State. In the industrial manufacturing sector, success is defined by "Incident Zero", the ability to harmonize complex shop floor operations with rigid safety protocols. This role is designed for a "Safety Architect" with 2–5 years of experience who can blend "Meticulous Hazard Identification" with the "Leadership Grit" required to instill a culture of safety across our workforce.
Your mission is to ensure "Absolute Regulatory Compliance and a Zero-Harm Working Environment." You will be the primary guardian of our shop floor: responsible for proactive hazard mitigation, detailed incident forensics, and the continuous education of our employees. If you possess "Exceptional Observational Skills," a background in Industrial Hygiene, and a commitment to professional excellence, we want you to safeguard our operations.
Requirements:
1. Shop Floor Governance & Hazard Mitigation
Protocol Architecture: Develop and implement high-standard safety procedures tailored specifically to our shop floor dynamics.
Proactive Surveillance: Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards before they escalate into accidents or injuries.
Asset Integrity: Oversee the maintenance of all safety equipment and emergency devices, ensuring they are in 100% working condition at all times.
Visual Communication: Design and deploy strategic safety signage across the facility to guide employee behavior and highlight high-risk zones.
2. Incident Forensics & Data Intelligence
Forensic Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations into any shop floor incidents, utilizing root-cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
Reporting Fidelity: Prepare detailed, high-fidelity incident reports and performance analytics using Microsoft Excel for management review.
Record Stewardship: Maintain a "Perpetual Audit" state by keeping up-to-date records of training activities, inspections, and compliance certifications.
3. Safety Culture & Professional Mentorship
Knowledge Transfer: Lead high-impact safety training sessions to ensure every employee is an active participant in our safety mission.
Regulatory Alignment: Stay at the forefront of the latest NEBOSH/OSHA standards and industry best practices to ensure the facility remains a leader in safety.
Stakeholder Influence: Act as a persuasive communicator to promote safety adherence among employees while working effectively under industrial pressure.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Minimum of an HND in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
Experience: 2–5 years of proven success as a Safety Officer within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Certification: Professional certification (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA, or ISPON) is highly preferred.
