Job Description:

We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Python Engineer to drive the development of our core financial services and data processing engines. This is a critical onsite role based in our Ikeja and Lekki hubs, designed for an engineer who excels at building scalable, secure, and performant backend systems.

In the world of Fintech, Python is the engine for rapid innovation, complex data analysis, and seamless integrations. We need a specialist who understands how to build production-grade, asynchronous systems that can handle the rigors of banking-level security and high-volume transaction processing. If you have 5+ years of experience and a track record of deploying mission-critical systems in the financial sector, we want you to lead our technical evolution.

Requirements:

1. High-Performance Backend Architecture

• Asynchronous Systems: Build and optimize high-concurrency applications using FastAPI, Sanic, or Aiohttp to handle real-time financial data.

• API Strategy: Design and maintain robust RESTful and GraphQL APIs that serve as the backbone for our mobile and web platforms.

• Logic & Integrity: Implement complex financial logic, including interest calculations, tax withholding, and real-time ledger updates, with 100% mathematical precision.

2. Financial Data Engineering & Integration

• Transaction Reliability: Utilize distributed task queues like Celery or Dramatiq with Redis/RabbitMQ to manage background financial processes and webhooks safely.

• Database Mastery: Architect and optimize complex queries for PostgreSQL or MySQL, and manage distributed data stores for high-speed caching.

• Third-Party Synergy: Build secure integrations with core banking providers, payment switches (Interswitch, NIBSS), and KYC verification services.

3. Security, Performance & Code Quality

• Security First: Implement and enforce industry-standard security protocols, including OAuth2, JWT, and encrypted data-at-rest/in-transit to meet PCI-DSS standards.

• Test-Driven Development (TDD): Maintain high code quality through rigorous unit and integration testing using Pytest and automated CI/CD pipelines.

• Monitoring & Profiling: Use tools like Prometheus, ELK stack, or New Relic to profile Python code and eliminate performance bottlenecks.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional Python development experience.

• Domain Expertise: Banking or Fintech experience is a mandatory requirement. You must be familiar with reconciliation, payment gateways, or digital lending workflows.

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Tech Stack: Mastery of Python 3.10+, Django/DRF or FastAPI, SQLAlchemy/Django ORM, and Pytest.

Core Competencies

• Architecture IQ: Strong understanding of SOLID principles, Design Patterns, and Clean Architecture.

• DevOps Familiarity: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and managing onsite server environments in Ikeja/Lekki.

• Communication: Ability to work onsite with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specs.
