Job Description:

We are seeking a high-performance Senior Java Engineer to build and scale the next generation of financial infrastructure. This is a critical onsite role based in our Ikeja and Lekki hubs, designed for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of complex distributed systems and high-stakes financial transactions.

In this position, you will be responsible for architecting robust, secure, and highly available backend services. We are looking for a specialist who understands that in Fintech, "fast" isn't enough—it must be "fault-tolerant." If you have 5+ years of experience navigating the rigors of Banking systems and a mastery of the Spring ecosystem, we invite you to lead our technical execution.

Requirements:

1. Core Backend Architecture & Scalability

• Distributed Systems: Design and implement microservices architectures that can handle millions of concurrent transactions with sub-second latency.

• API Governance: Build and maintain secure, well-documented RESTful and SOAP APIs that integrate seamlessly with core banking systems and third-party aggregators.

• Performance Tuning: Optimize JVM performance, memory management, and database queries to ensure maximum throughput under peak load.

2. Financial Transaction Integrity & Security

• Transaction Management: Implement complex ACID-compliant transaction logic to ensure data consistency across distributed ledgers and databases.

• Security Standards: Apply industry-standard security protocols, including OAuth2, JWT, and PCI-DSS requirements, to safeguard sensitive financial data.

• Resilience Engineering: Design systems with self-healing capabilities using circuit breakers, retries, and sophisticated error-handling patterns.

3. Database & Middleware Management

• Data Modeling: Design and optimize relational (PostgreSQL, Oracle) and non-relational (Redis, MongoDB) databases for high-concurrency read/write operations.

• Asynchronous Messaging: Utilize message brokers like Kafka or RabbitMQ to manage decoupled services and event-driven architectures.

• Cloud-Native Deployment: Collaborate with DevOps to containerize applications using Docker and Kubernetes for consistent onsite deployment.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional Java development experience.

• Domain Expertise: Banking or Fintech experience is a mandatory requirement. You must be familiar with financial workflows, settlement processes, or payment gateways.

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Tech Stack: Mastery of Java 11/17+, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Hibernate/JPA, and SQL/NoSQL.

• Collaboration: Strong communication skills to work with Product Managers, QA, and Frontend teams onsite.
