Job Description:
We are seeking an exceptionally organized, analytical, and highly proactive Fleet Officer to manage our asset mobility and anchor daily fleet operations. In this central logistical role, you will take operational ownership of our corporate vehicles and drivers, ensuring zero downtime across our transportation network.
This position demands a smart, detail-oriented analyst who bridges the gap between structured digital database management and hands-on field coordination. Leveraging your expertise in data tracking, you will monitor vehicle lifecycles, audit fuel expenditures, coordinate preventative maintenance schedules, and manage statutory document compliance—ensuring a highly efficient, cost-optimized, and reliable corporate transit engine.
Requirements:
1. Operational Tracking & Data Analytics
Daily Mobility Monitoring: Track and supervise daily vehicle dispatch movements, route efficiencies, and general fleet utilization variables across Lagos.
Fuel & Resource Auditing: Document and audit daily fuel consumption rates, tracking mileage logs against fuel receipts to identify anomalies, eliminate leakages, and optimize operating costs.
Executive Data Modeling: Formulate and analyze comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly fleet performance reports—highlighting asset utilization, cost-per-kilometer metrics, and driver compliance for senior management.
2. Maintenance Engineering & Vendor Governance
Preventative Maintenance Scheduling: Design and execute rigid, mileage-based servicing and repair timelines for all corporate vehicles to preserve asset values and prevent roadside breakdowns.
Vendor Quality Audits: Coordinate with mechanical workshops, parts suppliers, and external service providers; audit repair invoices against work completed to ensure technical standards are met.
Breakdown Resolution: Act as the primary technical point of contact for emergency breakdown recoveries, managing vehicle replacement allocations swiftly to minimize operational disruptions.
3. Statutory Compliance & Immaculate Data Hygiene
Document Lifecycle Management: Establish and maintain an airtight physical and digital registry for all fleet assets—ensuring vehicle licenses, comprehensive insurances, roadworthiness certificates, and local government permits (e.g., LASAA, Hackeny) are renewed seamlessly prior to expiration.
Data Upload Integrity: Systematically scan, file, and upload all operational records, repair histories, pre-trip inspection sheets, and driver profiles onto central databases.
4. Personnel & Driver Coordination
Driver Governance: Manage, brief, and evaluate corporate drivers, enforcing strict adherence to safety protocols, speed limits, and traffic regulations (e.g., LASTMA, FRSC codes).
Administrative Sync: Support cross-functional corporate teams, providing administrative and logistical backup for special events, executive transit requirements, and field operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Experience Parameters
Academic Foundation: Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics and Transport Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a strictly related discipline.
Track Record: 2 to 5 years of progressive, verifiable experience operating within a fleet management, logistics coordination, or transport operations support capacity.
Technical Competencies & Tool Stack
Advanced Excel Literacy: Deep, practical proficiency running formulas, data-sorting tools, and pivot tables on Microsoft Excel to manage extensive vehicle expenses and mileage trackers.
Corporate Communication Stack: High fluency utilizing Microsoft Outlook for rapid, professional vendor coordination, automated calendar reminders, and internal executive briefing.
Skill Matrix: Elite organizational agility, a sharp eye for asset data discrepancies, exceptional problem-solving capabilities, and the structural resilience required to manage logistics under intense pressure.
