Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and commercially aggressive Retail Branch Manager to take full operational and financial ownership of our retail mega store in Osogbo. In this role, you will serve as the chief operating executive on the floor managing a massive inventory footprint, coordinating diverse departmental teams, and implementing strategic retail frameworks to maximize profitability and foot traffic.

This position demands a seasoned retail professional who understands high-volume floor layout dynamics, shrinkage control, and the psychological triggers that build deep customer loyalty within the local market.

Requirements:

Floor Leadership & Team Synchronization

• Operational Command: Direct, supervise, and coordinate all daily activities across the mega store, ensuring seamless execution from opening to lock-up.

• Staff Management: Lead, mentor, and evaluate a multi-layered team of department heads, floor supervisors, cashiers, and logistics staff. Formulate structured shift rosters to maintain peak operational efficiency.

• Capability Building: Oversee on-the-floor recruitment, product knowledge training, and customer service benchmarking to foster a high-performance, customer-centric team culture.

Commercial Strategy & Inventory Architecture

• Revenue Performance: Formulate and execute aggressive localized sales and promotional strategies designed to meet and exceed monthly revenue goals.

• Airtight Inventory Control: Supervise automated Point-of-Sale (POS) and inventory tracking tools; execute daily/weekly inventory audits, minimize stockouts, and enforce strict shrinkage/pilferage mitigation measures.

• Merchandising Excellence: Maintain premium standards of visual merchandising, optimizing category placements, hot zones, and shelf-stocking aesthetics to drive impulsive buying behaviors.

Financial Governance & Customer Experience

• P&L Responsibility: Manage the store’s operational budgets, audit day-to-day overhead costs, and implement strict cost-control measures across all utilities and maintenance workflows.

• Escalation Management: Serve as the final authority on complex customer complaints, resolving service failures rapidly to preserve the store's reputation.

• Data-Driven Reporting: Analyze real-time sales velocity graphs and retail KPIs; compile and present structured weekly operational and financial performance briefs to corporate management.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Background

• Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Retail Management, or a closely related field.

• Track Record: Minimum of 5 years of verifiable, progressive experience operating as a Branch Manager or Store Manager strictly within a retail mega store framework (e.g., major supermarket chains, large pharmacy groups, or electronics mega-stores).

Technical Competencies

• Systems Fluency: Deep operational mastery of modern Retail POS systems, backend inventory management software, and security tracking architecture.

• Analytical Skills: Highly proficient in utilizing Microsoft Excel to audit sales trends, track margin sheets, and analyze consumer purchasing patterns.

• Local Compliance: Clear understanding of occupational health, safety codes, and consumer rights regulations.
