About Company:
Our aim is to ensure sustained growth by providing a range of unique services to our diverse clients. Our area of expertise is Human Capital Development. Our assurance is to satisfy our clients wholly and devise solutions to their people needs.
Job Description:
We are seeking a high-caliber Financial Controller to serve as the senior fiscal lead for our Lagos hotel operations. This is not a "desk-bound" accounting role; it is a high-visibility leadership position designed for a "Financial Guardian"—someone who understands that profitability in hospitality is won or lost in the details of the P&L.
Your mission is to ensure absolute fiscal integrity across all departments. You will bridge the gap between back-office accounting and front-of-house operations, ensuring that every naira is accounted for, from the kitchen’s food costs to statutory tax filings. If you possess the professional courage to enforce SOPs and the technical depth to navigate complex Nigerian tax laws, we want you to lead our 90-day transformation.
Requirements:
1. Reporting & Financial Stewardship
Cycle Management: Own the end-to-end month-end and year-end accounting cycles, ensuring all P&L, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow statements are submitted within strict corporate deadlines.
Roadmap Development: Provide a forward-looking 12-month financial roadmap, identifying revenue opportunities and cost-saving measures to improve the hotel’s EBITDA.
Audit Readiness: Maintain a state of constant audit readiness, ensuring all records are transparent, accurate, and compliant with IFRS standards.
2. Operational Control & Leakage Prevention
Cost Engineering: Supervise Income Audits and monitor F&B cost percentages daily to ensure food and beverage margins remain within budgeted targets.
High-Risk Oversight: Conduct unannounced spot checks in high-risk zones, including the bars, kitchens, and procurement stores, to eliminate shrinkage and fraud.
SOP Enforcement: Establish and monitor rigorous Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across the property to prevent financial mismanagement.
3. Nigerian Statutory Compliance
Tax Governance: Ensure 100% accuracy and punctuality in the filing and remittance of all Nigerian statutory requirements, including VAT, WHT, PAYE, CIT, and Pension.
Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and government regulatory bodies (LIRS, FIRS).
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Requirements
Experience: 5–7 years in accounting, with at least 3 years of specialized experience in Hospitality Finance.
Certification (MANDATORY): Must hold a valid ICAN (Preferred), ACCA, ACA, or CPA.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
Soft Skills
Professional Courage: The ability to challenge senior department heads on spending and budget variances.
Resilience: Maintaining composure and precision under intense pressure from ownership and audit cycles.
