Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and disciplined Finance Officer to manage our day-to-day financial operations. In this role, you will be responsible for the integrity of our general ledger, from managing payables and receivables to ensuring accurate month-end closures in Sage 300. You will serve as a key guardian of the company’s cash flow and assets, ensuring that all expenditures—from petty cash to staff reimbursements—are authorized, documented, and compliant with internal policies and statutory tax requirements.
Requirements:
1. Accounts Payable & Receivable Management
Vendor Relations: Process vendor invoices, prepare payment vouchers, and secure necessary approvals to ensure timely and accurate payments.
Billing & Collections: Generate customer invoices and proactively follow up on overdue accounts to maintain healthy cash flow.
Staff Expenditure: Serve as the primary reviewer for staff reimbursement claims and track the timely retirement of staff advances with appropriate documentation.
2. Financial Reporting & Month-End Closure
General Ledger Integrity: Lead the month-end closure process by posting all transactions, accrual journals, and adjustments into the Sage 300 accounting system.
Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts and resolve reconciling items immediately. Ensure the accuracy of both receivables and payables ledgers.
Financial Analysis: Carry out detailed account analysis to support the generation of accurate monthly financial statements.
3. Asset Management & Statutory Compliance
Fixed Asset Governance: Maintain the asset register, ensuring new purchases are recorded, depreciated at correct rates, and assigned to the responsible staff.
Tax & Audit Support: Assist the Finance and Administration Manager in processing tax payments and statutory returns. Provide essential documentation to support annual audits and internal reports.
Cash Control: Manage the petty cash float, ensuring all disbursements are authorized and that replenishment is requested in time to prevent operational delays.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Experience
Academic Background: University Degree in Finance or Accounting.
Proven Tenure: 3–5 years of relevant working experience in a core Finance or Accounting role.
Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.).
Technical Edge: Hands-on experience with Sage 300 is a significant competitive advantage.
