Job Description:
We are seeking a diligent and technically skilled Electrical Engineer to support our construction operations at the LNG Liquefaction, Storage, and Export terminal in Akwa Ibom. In this role, you will work closely with the Lead Electrical Engineer to execute high-stakes electrical projects, ensuring that all infrastructure from PDBs to earthing systems is installed, tested, and maintained to the highest safety and quality standards. Requirements:
Construction Execution: Assist in planning and executing electrical works, including the installation of Power Distribution Boards (PDBs), cable laying, and earthing systems.
Site Supervision: Coordinate and inspect incoming electrical materials and supervise the distribution of power to various site agencies, ensuring efficiency and safety.
Testing & Commissioning: Conduct testing, commissioning, and energizing of DBs. Utilize measuring and troubleshooting instruments (e.g., Insulation Testers, Earth Resistance Testers, ELCB testers) to maintain system integrity.
Operational Maintenance: Oversee the electrical facilities by preparing and executing periodic maintenance schedules and maintaining comprehensive inventory lists.
Project Control: Check plans and material quantities for accuracy, maintain daily progress reports and muster registers, and monitor power availability to ensure uninterrupted construction activities.
HSE & Compliance: Ensure all EPC contractors and site teams strictly adhere to safety policies, quality standards, and environmental regulations. Manage site power outages and coordinate directly with the NG operator to maintain workflow.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience: Proven experience in electrical construction and site supervision, preferably within an oil, gas, or heavy industrial setting.
Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with electrical measuring tools, troubleshooting, and reading complex construction drawings.
Material Management: Ability to plan, schedule, and track material quantities accurately against project requirements.
Safety Mindset: A non-negotiable commitment to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols in a hazardous/industrial environment.
Communication: Strong coordination skills to liaise effectively between contractors, site leads, and operational teams.
Adaptability: The ability to solve on-site technical challenges and work under the demanding schedules typical of large-scale infrastructure projects.
