Job Description:

We are seeking a professional and meticulous Front Desk & Health Information Specialist to serve as the primary gateway to our medical facility. This is a vital role (1–3 years experience) designed for an "Information Guardian"—someone who understands that the quality of patient care begins with the accuracy of their medical records.

Based in Rivers State, your mission is to manage the seamless flow of patient information while providing a supportive, high-touch experience for visitors. You will be responsible for the lifecycle of health data—from admission and record compilation to the secure management of sensitive databases. If you possess the empathy of a caregiver and the technical rigor of a data administrator, we want you to lead our front-desk operations.

Requirements:

1. Health Information Governance

  • Database Stewardship: Manage and maintain complex health information databases, ensuring every entry is accurate, up-to-date, and strictly compliant with medical privacy regulations.

  • Records Lifecycle: Retrieve and compile medical records for diverse purposes, including immediate patient care, clinical research, and legal documentation.

  • Audit & Compliance: Ensure that all patient data is handled with the highest level of confidentiality, protecting the facility against data breaches or regulatory lapses.

2. Patient Flow & Administrative Logistics

  • Admission Management: Process patient admissions, transfers, and discharges with high precision, ensuring that all physical and digital documentation is synchronized.

  • Information Support: Serve as a dedicated resource for patients and visitors, offering guidance on administrative processes, health records access, and general facility information.

  • Departmental Liaison: Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and billing departments to ensure that information flows without bottlenecks, resolving any data-related inquiries promptly.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BSc/HND) in Health Information Management, Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a front-desk or customer service role, preferably within a healthcare or clinical environment.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) or general database management tools.

  • Confidentiality: A deep understanding of medical ethics and the importance of patient privacy.

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills, with the ability to remain calm and supportive in high-pressure medical environments.

  • Organization: Meticulous attention to detail in data entry and physical file management.
