Job Description:

We are seeking a high-caliber Cost / Schedule / Controls Engineer to join our offshore team in Lagos on a contract basis. In this critical role, you will be the technical steward of project efficiency, responsible for the preparation, oversight, and quality assurance of cost estimates and schedules for major Gate and Funding milestones.

This position requires a "Verify and Validate" mindset. You will not only develop internal estimates but also prepare Check Estimates and Schedules to rigorously benchmark submittals from Other Builder Operators (OBO). Requirements:

1. Project Controls & Estimate Governance

• Milestone Oversight: Lead the preparation and QA reviews for all project Gate and Funding milestones, ensuring that cost bases are robust and defensible.

• OBO Benchmarking: Develop independent "Check Estimates" and schedules to validate submittals from third-party operators, identifying discrepancies in cost and time assumptions.

• Assessment & Verification: Participate in deep-dive assessments to verify the foundational cost and schedule bases of complex offshore projects.

2. Performance Reporting & Change Management

• Change Control Mastery: Maintain rigorous change management logs and cost reports to ensure project transparency and prevent "budget creep."

• Integrated Reporting: Coordinate with Project Estimators, Planners, and Schedulers to assemble comprehensive monthly progress reports for leadership.

• Accounting Liaison: Work closely with Project Managers and Accounting teams to satisfy both regulated and non-regulated reporting requirements.

3. Process Optimization & Mentoring

• Efficiency Tools: Contribute to the development and refinement of estimating group process tools and QA review improvements.

• Stakeholder Brokering: Negotiate and broker successful solutions between internal coordination parties to align project objectives with fiscal constraints.

• Mentoring: Provide consulting and analytical support to junior team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent professional experience in a technical discipline.

• Experience: Significant previous experience in Project Controls, Cost Engineering, or Scheduling, preferably in the Oil & Gas or Offshore sector.

• Technical Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Cost Estimating, Project Planning, and Project Controls methodologies.
