Job Description:
We are seeking a visionary and distinguished medical professional to serve as the Medical Director and Chief Executive. As the apex leader of the institution, you will be responsible for the strategic, clinical, and administrative governance of the hospital.
Reporting to the Board of Management and the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, you will serve as the primary architect of the hospital's growth, ensuring the delivery of world-class healthcare services. This role requires a unique blend of high-level clinical expertise and sophisticated administrative acumen. You will be expected to drive innovation, foster medical research, and maintain the institutional integrity required of a leading national healthcare facility.
Requirements:
1. Executive Leadership & Governance
Institutional Stewardship: Act as the Head and Chief Executive, assuming full accountability for the hospital’s operational and clinical outcomes.
Policy Execution: Lead the implementation of federal health policies and Board-mandated strategies to ensure the seamless day-to-day management of the institution.
Strategic Representation: Act as the primary liaison between the hospital, the Ministry of Health, and other key national and international stakeholders.
2. Clinical Excellence & Quality Assurance
Standards of Care: Maintain and elevate the quality of medical and dental services, ensuring adherence to global best practices and MDCN regulations.
Personnel Management: Oversee the professional development and performance of consultants, resident doctors, and clinical staff to ensure a high-performance culture.
Compliance: Ensure the institution operates in strict accordance with the Medical and Dental Practitioners Act and other relevant healthcare statutes.
3. Research, Innovation & Sustainability
Academic Leadership: Foster an environment that encourages medical research and evidence-based practice to enhance the hospital's reputation as a center of excellence.
Resource Mobilization: Spearhead efforts to attract funded grants and external partnerships to support hospital infrastructure and specialized medical programs.
Digital Transformation: Oversee the integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to modernize patient records, diagnostics, and administrative workflows.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Registration: Must be a Medical or Dental Practitioner registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
Licensing: Possession of a current, valid practicing license from the MDCN.
Seniority: * Minimum of [X] years post-graduation experience.
Minimum of [X] years of experience specifically as a Consultant.
Fellowship: Must be a Fellow of either the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria, the West African Postgraduate Medical College, or an equivalent recognized by the MDCN.
