Job Description:

  • We are actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Histopathologist to enhance our esteemed pathology team.

Key Responsibilities
As a Histopathologist at Clinix Healthcare, you will:

  • Perform Comprehensive Examinations: Conduct detailed histopathological examinations on biopsies, surgical specimens, and cytology samples to accurately diagnose diseases, including cancers and inflammatory conditions.
  • Analyze Tissue Samples: Examine tissue samples both grossly and microscopically, interpret findings, and prepare thorough pathology reports that inform treatment decisions.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals: Work closely with clinicians, surgeons, and other healthcare experts to provide critical diagnostic and prognostic information that guides patient treatment.
  • Ensure Quality Control: Maintain high standards of quality control, accuracy, and timeliness in diagnostic reporting, ensuring compliance with laboratory protocols for processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining of tissue specimens.
  • Participate in Multidisciplinary Discussions: Engage in tumor boards and other multidisciplinary team discussions to support clinical decision-making and enhance patient outcomes.
  • Adhere to Regulatory Standards: Comply with all regulatory guidelines, maintain patient confidentiality, and uphold laboratory safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Extensive Experience: Proven experience as a Histopathologist with strong diagnostic expertise and sound professional judgment.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical abilities and a keen eye for pattern recognition in microscopic examinations.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with medical teams and contribute to collaborative efforts.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
  • Commitment to Professional Development: A dedication to accuracy, ethical practice, and continuous professional growth.
  • Team Collaboration: Capability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Medical Degree: A medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
  • Postgraduate Fellowship: A postgraduate fellowship or qualification in Histopathology/Anatomic Pathology (e.g., FWACP, FMCPath, or equivalent).
  • Valid License: A valid practicing license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
  • Relevant Experience: 2–3 years of relevant post-qualification experience in histopathology.
  • Additional Certifications: Certification in relevant areas (e.g., immunohistochemistry or cytopathology) is an added advantage.
