Job Description:

We are looking for a trustworthy, efficient, and detail-oriented Cashier to join our team in Jos. As the final point of contact for our customers, you play a critical role in ensuring a seamless transaction experience.

Your primary mission is to process payments with 100% accuracy, manage the point-of-sale (POS) area, and provide friendly, professional service. The ideal candidate is someone who is "numbers-driven," possesses high integrity, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where precision is paramount.

Requirements:

1. Transactional Accuracy & POS Management

• Payment Processing: Handle cash, POS terminals, and mobile transfer transactions with speed and precision.

• Receipting: Issue accurate receipts, refunds, or change to customers while ensuring all transactions are logged in the system.

• Shift Reconciliation: Perform "End-of-Day" or "End-of-Shift" cash counts to ensure the physical cash drawer matches the system sales reports.

2. Customer Service & Conflict Resolution

• Customer Interaction: Greet customers warmly and provide information regarding pricing, discounts, and loyalty programs.

• Dispute Management: Professionally handle customer complaints regarding billing errors or price discrepancies, escalating to management when necessary.

• Queue Management: Maintain an organized checkout area to ensure a fast and efficient flow of customers.

3. Security & Compliance

• Verification: Carefully verify the authenticity of currency notes and ensure that POS card transactions are authorized.

• Internal Controls: Adhere strictly to company policies regarding cash limits in the drawer and secure cash-drops during shifts.

• Reporting: Immediately report any unexplained discrepancies or suspicious activity to the supervisor.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Education: OND, HND, or B.Sc in Accounting, Business Administration, or any relevant qualification.

• Experience: Previous experience as a Cashier, Sales Clerk, or in a similar retail/finance role is an advantage.

• Location: Must reside in or be able to easily commute to Jos, Plateau State.

• Mathematical Aptitude: Strong basic math skills for calculating change and reconciling daily totals.

• Integrity: An unblemished record of honesty and ethical conduct.

• Tech Literacy: Proficiency in using POS systems and basic computer applications.
