Job Description:
We are seeking a disciplined and detail-oriented Account Officer to support our financial engine. In a high-standards corporate environment, success is defined by "Transactional Fidelity", the ability to maintain impeccable financial records while providing the analytical support necessary for strategic budgeting. This role is designed for a "Financial Anchor" with 2–3 years of experience who can blend "Accounting Rigor" with the "Administrative Grit" required to manage office operations and vendor relationships.
Your mission is to ensure "Zero-Error Financial Reporting and Seamless Audit Readiness." You will be a vital partner to the Financial Manager: responsible for managing the general ledger, tracking budget variances, and ensuring 100% compliance with statutory tax requirements. If you possess "Analytical Mastery," proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and a commitment to professional confidentiality, we want you to drive our fiscal excellence.
Requirements:
1. Ledger Management & Transactional Governance
General Ledger Integrity: Maintain accurate financial records, including all general ledger entries, invoices, and receipts, ensuring every kobo is accounted for.
AR/AP Orchestration: Process accounts payable and receivable transactions with precision, ensuring timely payments to vendors and diligent tracking of incoming revenue.
Bank Reconciliation: Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure the physical cash position perfectly mirrors our internal financial records.
2. Budgetary Control & Financial Intelligence
Budget Stewardship: Support the Financial Manager in budget planning and implementation, ensuring operational units adhere to approved financial limits.
Variance Analysis: Monitor expenses against budgets in real-time and report significant variances to management to trigger corrective actions.
Reporting Excellence: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, providing the schedules and documentation needed for high-level analysis.
3. Administrative Synergy & Compliance
Audit Readiness: Maintain organized physical and electronic filing systems, ensuring a "Zero-Finding" environment for both internal and external audits.
Statutory Compliance: Support the documentation of taxes and statutory payments, ensuring the organization remains in good standing with all regulatory bodies.
Procurement Support: Coordinate with vendors regarding invoices and payments, while tracking purchase requests to ensure a transparent procurement lifecycle.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting.
Experience: 2–3 years of relevant experience in a structured finance or accounting role.
Certification Advantage: Progress toward ICAN, ACCA, or ATS is a significant plus.
Core Competencies
Technical Mastery: Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP) and proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Analytical Prowess: Ability to interpret complex financial data and identify trends or anomalies.
Documentation Grit: High level of accuracy in record-keeping and organized filing.
