Job Description:

• We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Account Officer to join our busy Finance Department.
• In this crucial role, you will manage daily financial transactions, maintain accurate records, prepare essential financial reports, and ensure full compliance with accounting standards and company policies. 
• This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to support our finance operations and contribute to accurate financial reporting in a dynamic environment. 

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Transaction Management: Record and reconcile all financial transactions, including payments, receipts, and journal entries.
• Accounting Software Proficiency: Maintain and update financial records efficiently in our accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and submit timely periodic financial reports, statements (e.g., P&L, balance sheets), and assist with budget preparation and expense monitoring.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable (AP/AR): Manage accounts payable and receivable functions efficiently, including invoicing and collections.
• Audit & Compliance Support: Support internal and external audits by providing relevant documentation and ensuring adherence to local accounting regulations.
• Statutory Remittances: Ensure timely remittance of all statutory deductions (PAYE, VAT, Pension, etc.).
• Records Management: Maintain proper, organized filing and record-keeping of all financial documents.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations and cash flow visibility. 

Requirements:

• Core Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
• Key Competencies: Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Professionalism: Demonstrated integrity, confidentiality, and a professional work ethic. 

Added Advantage:

• Professional Certification: ICAN, ACCA, or being in view of these certifications.
• Industry Experience: Prior experience in FMCG, manufacturing, or the services sector.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: B.Sc./HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of relevant experience in an Account Officer or similar finance role.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) and experience with accounting software packages.
