Job Description:

We are seeking a high-performing, strategically minded Senior Accountant to lead the financial and commercial controls of our multi-location FMCG operations. This is not a "cutter-and-payer" role; it is a high-impact position designed for a professional who can reconcile complex financial streams across multiple warehouses, terminals, and retail outlets.

You will be the guardian of our margins and the architect of our financial discipline. From harmonizing multi-million naira credit lines to leading full-cycle stocktakes in a fast-moving environment, you will provide the data-driven insights that influence pricing, promotions, and profitability. Requirements:

1. Complex Financial Reconciliation & Treasury

• Multi-Stream Harmony: Ensure daily and monthly reconciliation of complex financial flows, including operational accounts, POS merchant settlements, and supply credits.

• Facilities Management: Monitor and harmonize bank facilities (overdrafts, trade credits, and loans), strategizing to minimize borrowing costs and optimize liquidity.

• Cash Flow Optimization: Enforce strict aging controls on receivables and payables to ensure a healthy working capital cycle.

2. Advanced Stock Control & Valuation

• Inventory Integrity: Lead periodic, full-cycle stocktakes across multiple warehouses and outlets, reconciling physical counts with ERP data.

• Valuation Precision: Manage stock valuation models and depreciation schedules, ensuring accurate reporting of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and gross margins.

• Loss Mitigation: Partner with operations and warehouse teams to identify and eliminate leakages, shrinkage, or inventory discrepancies.

3. Statutory Governance & Strategic Advisory

• Tax Compliance: Administer VAT, WHT, CIT, and stamp duties in strict accordance with the latest Nigerian Tax Laws and Finance Acts.

• Commercial Insights: Model the impact of pricing, promotions, and discounts on overall margins to advise the CEO and Sales teams.

• Audit & Controls: Maintain a "clean-audit" environment by enforcing strict authorization workflows, audit trails, and ERP integrity.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Certification: Mandatory professional qualification (ICAN, ACCA, CPA, or ACA).

• Experience: 3 – 5 years of hands-on experience in FMCG Wholesale or Retail accounting.

• Sector IQ: Proven experience with multi-location operations and complex bank portfolio reconciliations.

Technical Competencies

• ERP Mastery: Advanced experience with SAP, Oracle, Odoo, or QuickBooks Enterprise.

• Analytical Power: Advanced Excel skills (Modeling, VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) for ad-hoc financial analysis.

• Regulatory Depth: Mastery of Nigerian GAAP (IFRS/NRS) and the Nigerian Tax Act.

• Negotiation: Exposure to treasury management and bank facility negotiations.
