Job Description:

Are you a master of the "first 30 seconds"? We are seeking a Creative Video Editor to become the visual storyteller for our YouTube channel. This isn't just about cutting clips; it’s about engineering viewer retention. We need an editor who understands YouTube-specific pacing—using zooms, B-roll, and sound design to keep an audience hooked from start to finish. If you can turn raw footage into a polished, brand-consistent cinematic experience, this long-term partnership is for you.

Requirements:

1. Narrative & Retention Engineering

• Storyline Optimization: Edit long-form videos (5–18 mins) with a focus on narrative flow, ensuring the "hook" is impactful and the pacing prevents viewer drop-off.

• Micro-Content Creation: Repurpose long-form content into high-energy YouTube Shorts that drive channel discovery.

• Visual Pacing: Implement dynamic zooms, pans, and transitions to maintain visual interest throughout the video.

2. Technical Craft & Post-Production

• Audio & Visual Polish: Perform professional color grading and audio enhancement (noise reduction, EQ, and leveling) to ensure a premium feel.

• Graphic Integration: Add engaging captions, motion text, and curated B-roll to emphasize key points and maintain the "YouTube style."

• Sound Design: Layer sound effects (SFX) and background music to evoke emotion and drive the energy of the edit.

3. Brand Alignment & Delivery

• Style Consistency: Adhere to the channel’s specific brand guidelines, including font choices, color palettes, and recurring editing tropes.

• Workflow Management: Deliver 8 long-form videos and 8 Shorts monthly, meeting strict deadlines to maintain the channel’s upload schedule.

• Collaborative Iteration: Actively incorporate feedback from the creator to refine the editing style and improve performance metrics over time.

Qualifications and Skills:

Technical Toolkit

• Software Proficiency: Expert-level skills in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or CapCut Pro.

• Pacing Mastery: A deep understanding of YouTube "hooks," "re-engagement points," and storytelling.

• Infrastructure: Reliable high-speed internet for large file transfers and consistent communication.

Core Competencies

• Detail Oriented: A "pixel-perfect" mindset regarding captions, transitions, and audio sync.

• Communication: Ability to take constructive criticism and translate creative briefs into visual reality.

• Experience: Proven portfolio of YouTube-style edits (vlogs, educational, or documentary-style).

Bonus Skills (The Advantage)

• Motion Graphics: Proficiency in After Effects for custom animations.
