Biomedical is the first pharmaceutical company in Nigeria to manufacture and distribute intravenous fluids, Dialysis and irrigation fluids and oral rehydration salts we commenced production on August 21, 1981 at our factory located in Ilorin, Kwara State is spread over 24,380sqm.

Job Description:

We are seeking a distinguished Head of Quality Control to serve as the ultimate guardian of product integrity and regulatory compliance. In a highly regulated manufacturing landscape, Quality Control is the "Strategic Shield" of the organization. This role is designed for a "Scientific Authority"—someone with a minimum of 15 years of experience and a deep mastery of NAFDAC protocols who can transition from the microscope to the boardroom.

Your mission is to lead a high-performance laboratory and inspection team, ensuring that every batch produced meets stringent international standards and statutory requirements. You will be responsible for the entire quality lifecycle—from raw material validation and advanced analytical testing to the implementation of sophisticated QC software and the management of NAFDAC relationships. If you possess the leadership grit to oversee large-scale scientific operations and the analytical depth to drive continuous improvement, we want you to lead our Quality function in Ilorin.

Requirements:

1. Regulatory Governance & NAFDAC Stewardship

• Compliance Sovereignty: Ensure 100% adherence to NAFDAC regulations, SON standards, and international GXP (Good Practice) guidelines.

• Statutory Liaison: Act as the primary technical point of contact for regulatory inspections, facilitating audits and ensuring all product certifications and licenses are flawlessly maintained.

• Quality Documentation: Oversee the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring all documentation is audit-ready at all times.

2. Analytical Leadership & Laboratory Management

• Technical Oversight: Direct all laboratory activities, including chemical, physical, and microbiological analysis, utilizing advanced QC software and high-precision instrumentation.

• Method Validation: Lead the validation of analytical methods and equipment calibration protocols to ensure the highest level of data integrity.

• Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Spearhead investigations into out-of-specification (OOS) results, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to mitigate future risks.

3. Strategic Project & Team Management

• Human Capital Development: Lead, coach, and mentor a multidisciplinary team of scientists, fostering a culture of technical excellence and uncompromising integrity.

• Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to enhance laboratory efficiency through the adoption of new technologies and project management methodologies.

• Supply Chain Quality: Oversee the quality assessment of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods, ensuring a "Quality at the Source" approach.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Minimum 2:1) in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Pure and Applied Chemistry.

• Experience: A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in Quality Control roles, with significant time spent in a leadership or managerial capacity.

• Domain Expertise: In-depth, practical knowledge of NAFDAC regulations and advanced quality control software.
