Job Description:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Assistant to support our supply chain operations in Ikeja, Lagos. This role is the backbone of our vendor management system, ensuring that we source the right materials at the best value.
You will act as a primary liaison with our suppliers—gathering quotations, tracking delivery performance, and maintaining the integrity of our vendor database. This is an entry-level professional role designed for a sharp individual who wants to build a career in Supply Chain Management or Strategic Sourcing.
Requirements:
1. Sourcing & Quotation Management
Market Engagement: Communicate with a diverse range of suppliers to obtain competitive quotations and clarify product specifications.
Basic Negotiation: Execute initial negotiations on basic terms, such as lead times, payment schedules, and bulk discounts.
Price Benchmarking: Consistently compare quotes from multiple vendors to ensure the company achieves maximum cost-efficiency.
2. Vendor Performance & Compliance
Performance Tracking: Monitor supplier reliability, focusing on delivery timeliness, product quality, and adherence to agreed-upon terms.
Issue Resolution: Identify and report supply chain bottlenecks or quality issues to the Procurement Officer for immediate intervention.
Database Stewardship: Maintain and update a clean, organized database of approved vendors, ensuring all contact information and certifications are current.
3. Administrative & Logistics Support
Documentation: Support the procurement team in preparing Purchase Orders (POs) and maintaining audit-ready filing systems.
Liaison Support: Act as a bridge between the procurement office and the warehouse/receiving team to confirm the arrival of goods.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Relevant qualifications (OND/HND/B.Sc) in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, or a related field.
Demographics: Open to Male applicants only, not older than 27 years of age.
Location: Candidates must be resident in or easily able to commute to Ikeja, Lagos.
Core Competencies
Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for professional negotiation and vendor correspondence.
Numerical Literacy: Ability to compare costs and analyze quotations accurately.
Organization: High attention to detail with the ability to manage a high volume of vendor data.
Software Proficiency: Basic familiarity with Microsoft Excel for tracking and reporting.
