Job Description:
ACE Human Resources Consulting is proud to partner with a high-growth, innovative startup in Lagos to find a foundational HR Manager. This is not a "maintenance" role; it is a "builder" role. You will be tasked with designing the HR function from the ground up, moving beyond basic administration to create a workplace culture where innovation and productivity coexist. As the lead architect of the employee experience, you will serve as a strategic partner to leadership, ensuring that as the company scales, its people, policies, and performance frameworks scale with it.
Requirements:
1. Structural HR Design & Compliance
Policy Architecture: Design and implement agile HR policies specifically tailored for a fast-paced startup environment.
Legal Guardianship: Ensure total alignment with Nigeria Labour Laws and contemporary HR best practices to mitigate organizational risk.
Welfare Governance: Institute and manage comprehensive employee benefit schemes, including Pension (PENCOM) compliance, Health Insurance (HMO), and other welfare initiatives.
2. Talent Acquisition & Growth Frameworks
Strategic Recruitment: Lead end-to-end recruitment efforts to attract top-tier talent across technical and commercial roles.
Onboarding & Engagement: Design immersive onboarding programs that integrate new hires into the startup’s mission and culture from day one.
Performance Excellence: Partner with leadership to build modern performance management systems (OKRs/KPIs) and career progression maps that reward high-impact work.
3. Employee Relations & Advisory
Trusted Partnership: Act as the primary advisor to both managers and employees, resolving grievances, managing conduct matters, and fostering transparent communication.
Culture Stewardship: Proactively manage employee engagement initiatives to maintain a productive and motivated startup culture.
Data Integrity: Build and maintain digitized employee records, ensuring data privacy and ease of access for strategic reporting.
Qualifications and Skills:
Academic & Professional Background
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: 4+ years of core HR experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity.
Startup Savvy: Previous experience in a startup or a fast-evolving tech environment is a significant advantage.
Core Competencies
Agility: The ability to thrive in an environment where "the only constant is change."
Leadership: Strong problem-solving skills and the emotional intelligence to manage diverse personalities.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills for drafting policies and leading town-hall engagements.
Compliance Knowledge: Deep familiarity with Nigerian industrial relations and labor regulations.
