Job Description:
We are seeking a professional and highly organized Front Desk & HMO Officer to serve as the critical first point of contact for our facility. This is a multifaceted role where patient hospitality meets insurance logistics. You will be responsible for creating a welcoming environment while simultaneously navigating the technicalities of HMO eligibility, billing, and authorization. If you are a clear communicator who can bridge the gap between patients, medical staff, and insurance providers with efficiency and grace, we want you at our front desk.
Requirements:
1. Patient Experience & Concierge Services
First Impressions: Welcome and attend to patients and visitors with a high degree of professionalism and empathy.
Inquiry Management: Act as the central communication hub, managing phone calls, emails, and walk-in inquiries with accuracy and speed.
Conflict Resolution: Proactively handle patient feedback or complaints, escalating complex issues to management while maintaining a calm demeanor.
2. HMO Liaison & Insurance Operations
Eligibility Verification: Confirm patient HMO coverage and secure necessary authorization codes prior to the commencement of medical services.
Claims Coordination: Liaise between patients and HMO representatives to ensure clear communication regarding approvals, denials, and policy updates.
Medical Billing: Execute accurate patient registration and billing processes, ensuring that documentation aligns with both facility standards and insurance requirements.
3. Administrative Governance
Documentation Excellence: Maintain meticulously organized digital and physical records while upholding strict patient confidentiality (HIPAA/NDPR compliance).
Cross-Functional Support: Provide daily administrative assistance to healthcare personnel to ensure a seamless workflow within the facility.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: OND / HND / B.Sc. in Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a healthcare front desk, clinic administration, or HMO-specific role.
HMO Literacy: A solid understanding of Nigerian HMO operations and basic medical billing is a significant advantage.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel is essential for patient logs).
