Job Description:
We are seeking a high-caliber Facility Manager to lead the maintenance, safety, and operational continuity of our physical infrastructure. In this role, you are the strategic anchor ensuring that our workspace remains a safe, efficient, and high-performing environment. Your mission is to move from reactive repairs to a world-class proactive maintenance culture.
As the Facility Manager, you will orchestrate everything from complex HVAC and power systems to multi-million naira budgets and high-stakes regulatory compliance. Requirements:
1. Infrastructure Resilience & Preventive Maintenance
Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive preventive maintenance schedules (PMS) to extend the lifecycle of all building assets.
Technical Oversight: Supervise a multidisciplinary team of in-house technicians and external contractors across electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and civil works.
Risk Mitigation: Conduct rigorous weekly inspections and risk assessments to identify and resolve structural or systemic vulnerabilities before they disrupt operations.
2. Regulatory Compliance & HSE Governance
Safety Stewardship: Ensure 100% compliance with local and international health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
Standards Enforcement: Lead the facility through regulatory audits and ensure all building certifications (fire safety, structural integrity, environmental impact) are consistently up to date.
Emergency Preparedness: Design and manage emergency response protocols, including fire drills and disaster recovery plans.
3. Financial Management & Resource Optimization
Budget Architecture: Prepare detailed annual facility budgets, accurately forecasting maintenance costs and capital expenditures (CAPEX).
Utility Management: Implement smart energy and water management strategies to optimize consumption and significantly reduce operational costs.
Vendor Excellence: Manage procurement cycles for facility supplies and services, ensuring high-quality delivery through competitive bidding and rigorous contract management.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Civil), Facilities Management, or a related technical field.
Technical IQ: In-depth knowledge of building management systems (BMS), power distribution (generators/transformers), and industrial HVAC.
Leadership: Proven track record of managing technical staff and third-party service providers.
Core Competencies
Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret technical blueprints and facility data to make informed repair-vs-replace decisions.
Organization: Highly structured approach to managing multiple technical projects and competing deadlines.
Project Management: Experience leading facility upgrades and renovations from conception to completion.
