About Company:
XFP Productions is a mission-driven organization dedicated to empowering persons with disabilities (PWDs). What began as a passion for celebrating diversity has evolved into a respected hub that actively dismantles barriers. We create platforms where creativity, ability, and opportunity intersect — transforming narratives around disability and forging pathways toward professional inclusion
Job Description:
We are seeking a technically proficient and creative Assistant Video Editor to join our post-production powerhouse. In this role, you aren’t just "cutting clips"—you are a visual storyteller responsible for transforming raw, unpolished footage into high-octane content for global platforms like Netflix, YouTube, and Social Media.
As the right hand to the Lead Video Editor, you will manage the heavy lifting of the post-production lifecycle: from data ingestion and rough cuts to advanced color grading and motion graphics. We need an editor who understands the "science of the edit"—someone who can follow a script with precision while suggesting innovative ways to enhance the narrative through sound, rhythm, and visual effects.
Requirements:
1. Technical Ingestion & Rough Cut Assembly
Media Management: Lead the process of assembling raw footage, uploading/transferring files, and maintaining a highly organized project structure.
Scripted Edits: Analyze scripts, screenplays, and outlines to splice and synchronize video and audio into a cohesive "rough cut" file.
Sync & Splice: Digitally synchronize multi-cam footage and external audio recorders to ensure a seamless foundation for the final edit.
2. Visual Enhancement & Motion Design
Technical Correction: Use advanced software to correct lighting, perform color grading, and salvage faulty footage to meet broadcast standards.
Motion Graphics: Collaborate with the creative team to design and integrate graphics and animations that elevate the visual storytelling.
VFX Integration: Suggest and implement appropriate special effects that match the Director’s vision without compromising the narrative flow.
3. Sound Design & Finishing
Audio Landscapes: Input and mix sound to enhance footage, including music selection, sound effects (SFX), and voice-over integration.
Review & QC: Watch finished products with a "critical eye" to identify and fix technical glitches before submitting for final review.
Director Collaboration: Work closely with Directors to implement revisions, ensuring the final product aligns perfectly with the creative brief.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Experience: Proven experience in post-production, cinematography, or graphic design. Advanced experience with digital video editing and motion graphics is essential.
Software Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop. Competency in Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, or DaVinci Resolve is highly valued.
Technical IQ: Advanced understanding of sound engineering, lighting correction, and the mechanics of visual effects (VFX).
Core Competencies
Critical Thinking: Ability to look at raw footage and identify the best storytelling path.
Time Management: Exceptional ability to meet tight deadlines for multiple outlets simultaneously.
Collaborative Spirit: Strong communication skills to work effectively with Directors, Media Leads, and Sound Engineers.
