Job Description:

  • Develop and implement advocacy strategies, campaigns, and initiatives aligned with LHI’s thematic focus areas.

  • Conduct research and policy analysis on key issues affecting communities served by LHI.

  • Engage with government agencies, policymakers, and other stakeholders to influence policy and program decisions.

  • Build and maintain strong networks with civil society organizations, NGOs, and advocacy coalitions.

  • Coordinate public awareness campaigns, workshops, and community dialogues.

  • Support media engagement efforts, including drafting press releases, opinion pieces, and social media advocacy content.

  • Represent LHI at stakeholder meetings, policy forums, and advocacy platforms.

  • Monitor and evaluate advocacy activities, documenting successes, challenges, and lessons learned.

  • Prepare reports, policy briefs, and position papers for internal and external audiences.

  • Train and mentor staff, volunteers, and community members on advocacy and policy engagement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Political Science, Public Policy, or related field (Master’s is an added advantage).
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in advocacy, policy engagement, or communications within NGO/nonprofit settings.
  • Strong understanding of Nigeria’s policy and governance environment, particularly in health, education, and social development.
  • Experience in campaign design, community mobilization, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and public speaking.
  • Knowledge of media relations and digital advocacy tools.
  • Ability to build partnerships and influence decision-makers.
  • Strong analytical, research, and documentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel for advocacy engagements and fieldwork.
