Job Description:
Ultraviolet Microfinance Bank is seeking a meticulous and analytically sharp Cash & Reconciliation Officer. This dual-impact role is the primary safeguard for the bank’s liquidity and financial integrity. You will be responsible for real-time monitoring of cash positions across all branches and vaults, ensuring that our operations are sufficiently funded for customer withdrawals and loan disbursements. Simultaneously, you will lead the reconciliation of diverse electronic payment channels (POS, USSD, ATM) and internal accounts to ensure every kobo is accounted for. Requirements:
1. Liquidity & Cash Management
Position Monitoring: Real-time tracking of daily cash positions across all physical branches, vaults, and correspondent bank accounts.
Adequacy Planning: Ensure optimal liquidity levels are maintained to support seamless customer withdrawals, loan disbursements, and daily operational expenditures.
Fund Orchestration: Execute inter-branch cash movements and fund transfers while strictly adhering to approved authorization limits.
Treasury Support: Assist in the investment of excess liquidity into approved money market instruments to optimize the bank's interest income.
2. Comprehensive Financial Reconciliation
Multi-Channel Reconciliation: Perform daily reconciliation for all electronic payment platforms, including POS, Mobile Money, USSD, ATM, and NIP transfer platforms.
Account Integrity: Reconcile customer transaction accounts, loan repayments, savings deposits, and interest postings to ensure ledger accuracy.
Settlement & Clearing: Liaise with correspondent banks to manage floats and resolve clearing/suspense account discrepancies.
3. Investigation & Reporting
Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate and document all reconciliation differences, ensuring prompt resolution or escalation in line with internal audit procedures.
Management Reporting: Prepare daily cash position and liquidity reports to provide leadership with actionable financial visibility.
Audit Readiness: Maintain clean, organized documentation for all reconciliation activities to support internal and external audits.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Experience
Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven Tenure: 3–6 years of experience in a Microfinance bank, commercial bank, or a similar financial institution.
Professional Credentials: Relevant certifications (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) are a significant advantage.
Core Competencies
Analytical Precision: Exceptional ability to spot errors and investigate complex financial discrepancies.
Banking Operations: Deep understanding of Nigerian settlement systems (NIP, NEFT) and microfinance operational procedures.
Technical Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and core banking software.
Integrity: Uncompromising ethical standards and attention to detail.
