SURVEYOR AT BRIDGE GAP CONSULTS | SURVEYOR JOBS IN ABUJA

Abuja, Nigeria | Posted on 19/05/2026

About Company:

Bridgegap Consults Limited has been providing multidisciplinary professional services to both local and international organizations since 2008.

Job Description:

We are seeking an exceptionally precise, analytically sharp, and field-ready Surveyor to join our engineering consulting division in Abuja. Operating as the technical custodian of spatial data and spatial alignments, you will hold absolute operational accountability for the physical accuracy of our building and infrastructure footprints—bridging the gap between raw topographic terrain data and final as-built compliance layouts.

This position demands far more than passive measurement; it requires a highly skilled technical specialist who can interpret complex structural schematics, execute complex site layouts, and deploy high-tier geospatial equipment under demanding field timelines. You will lead field teams, collaborate deeply with Project Managers and Civil Engineers, and ensure all spatial data feeds perfectly into our construction lifecycles while enforcing absolute alignment with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) codes.

Requirements:

1. High-Precision Geospatial Site Surveys & Setting Out

  • Field Measurement Execution: Conduct rigorous boundary, topographic, hydrographic, and geodetic site surveys to map structural contours, elevations, and existing physical features.

  • Structural Setting Out: Translate architectural blueprints and structural designs onto physical construction ground sites, establishing high-accuracy reference grids, benchmarks, and alignment stakes.

  • As-Built Auditing: Perform detailed as-built surveys during and post-construction to verify that structural developments precisely match approved engineering tolerances and dimensions, rapidly isolating structural deviations.

2. Blueprint Interpretation & Spatial Data Reconciliation

  • Advanced Drawing Diagnostics: Read, interpret, and cross-examine complex architectural layouts, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) schematics, and structural engineering drawings.

  • Data Discrepancy Isolation: Proactively identify geometric inconsistencies between architectural intents and real-world physical site conditions, collaborating with lead engineers to implement technical spatial corrections.

3. Advanced Instrumentation Governance & Data Hygiene

  • Specialized Tool Deployment: Deploy and calibrate advanced surveying instrumentation—including Total Stations, GNSS/RTK GPS receivers, Digital Levels, and 3D Laser Scanners, to capture zero-defect spatial metrics.

  • Geospatial Processing: Leverage specialized computer-aided software (such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, or Global Mapper) to process raw spatial datasets, model digital terrains, and generate highly polished technical topographic maps for project stakeholders.

4. HSE Compliance & Site Safety Stewardship

  • Safety Protocol Enforcement: Conduct all field operations in strict compliance with National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA) frameworks, corporate SOPs, and construction site safety codes.

  • Risk Mitigation: Partner with the internal HSE lead to analyze site terrain hazards (e.g., soil erosion zones, unstable structural slopes, or excavation edges), implementing secure physical barriers and safe deployment strategies for field crews.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education & Academic Tracks

  • Degree Baseline: Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc. / B.Eng.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Land Surveying, Geoinformatics, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related spatial-science discipline from an accredited tertiary institution.

  • Professional Edge: Active validation or progressive certification pathways with the Surveyors Council of Nigeria (SURCON) or the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (NIS) will be treated as a dominant competitive advantage.

Experience & Sector Footprint

  • Domain Longevity: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive, verifiable experience operating as a Land Surveyor, Geoinformatics Engineer, or Setting Out Surveyor on active construction fields.

  • Project Footprint: Direct field experience managing large-scale infrastructure systems (e.g., road construction, bridge layouts, drainage networks) or multi-story commercial real estate developments is highly preferred.
