Job Description:
- Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, MTO and CTR;
- Undertaking costs analysis for repair and maintenance project work, and advice;
- Undertaking feasibility studies to establish client’s requirements;
- Performing risk and value management during construction;
- Advising on procurement strategy;
- Identifying, analyzing and developing responses to commercial risks;
- Evaluate subcontractors’ proposals and establish optimum cost benchmark to achieve value for money;
- Allocating work to subcontractors and overseeing their work at all stages of the construction;
- Identifying gaps between BOQ and drawings, specifications and conditions of the contract and taking it for a logical closure;
- Develop and establish project controls for monitoring and controlling costs throughout the project, identifying cost-saving opportunities;
- Providing advice on contractual claims;
- Analyzing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports;
- Develop project cost estimates, budgets and cash flow forecast with the aim of increasing efficiency in project cost control and maintaining historical cost data;
- Effective cash management including timely application/certification/invoicing;
- Identifying and costing change order, variations order and fluctuation claims;
- Develop and agree valuation schedule (if not stated in the contract) and implement, identify variations order and prepare variation account/payment certificates and final accounts;
- Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use;
Requirements:
- Must be a qualified Quantity Surveyor
- Minimum 12 years’ experience
- NIQS registered
- Good commercial awareness
- Must be computer literate with sufficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Project
- Good IT skills with competency in relevant Surveying and Costing IT packages like PlanSwift
- Excellent communication skills and good presentation and client skills.
