Job Description:

We are seeking a dependable and highly organized Storekeeper to manage the operational pulse of our kitchen and restaurant outlets. In the food service industry, the store is the foundation of quality and profitability. You will be responsible for the end-to-end inventory lifecycle—from receiving fresh ingredients and inspecting quality to managing stock rotation and preventing wastage. Requirements:

1. Inventory Governance & Stock Control

  • Receiving & Verification: Inspect incoming food items, packaging, and supplies for quality, quantity, and expiration dates.

  • FIFO Implementation: Strictly enforce the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method to ensure ingredient freshness and minimize spoilage.

  • Stock Security: Implement effective measures to prevent theft, wastage, and inventory shrinkage.

2. Operational Support & Requisition

  • Strategic Issuing: Accurately issue materials and ingredients to the kitchen and floor staff based on authorized requisition forms.

  • Demand Monitoring: Track stock levels in real-time and provide early warnings to the Procurement Manager regarding low or critical items.

  • Cross-Functional Synergy: Collaborate with Chefs and the Procurement team to ensure the right ingredients are available at the right time.

3. Hygiene, Safety & Documentation

  • Storage Excellence: Maintain clean, organized, and properly labeled storage areas compliant with global food health and safety regulations.

  • Data Integrity: Keep precise records using manual logs or inventory software, ensuring that physical stock always matches the books.

  • Audit Readiness: Conduct regular physical stock counts and assist in the preparation of month-end inventory reports and audits.

Qualifications and Skills:

Experience & Academic Background

  • Education: Minimum of an Ordinary National Diploma (OND). Specialized training in logistics or inventory control is a plus.

  • Experience: 1–5 years of experience in storekeeping, preferably within a hotel, restaurant, or catering environment.

Core Competencies

  • Food Safety Knowledge: Strong understanding of perishables, shelf-life, and hygienic storage practices.

  • Technical Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic inventory management systems.

  • Mathematical Accuracy: Strong basic math skills for reconciliations and measurements.

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, move, and organize stock in various storage environments (cold rooms, dry stores).

  • Character: A track record of honesty, reliability, and extreme attention to detail.
