Our Strategic Business Unit (SBU), SDI, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Description:

  • We are seeking a competent and experienced Rig HSE Officer to support and promote a strong Health, Safety, and Environmental culture across our rig operations.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing HSE policies, monitoring compliance, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring all personnel adhere to safety standards required for safe and efficient drilling operations.
  • The ideal candidate must be proactive, disciplined, and well-versed in regulatory standards and rig safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities
HSE Compliance & Monitoring:

  • Ensure strict compliance with company HSE policies, international standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct routine inspections, audits, and safety walks on the rig.
  • Monitor safe work practices and correct unsafe acts or conditions immediately.

Incident Management:

  • Lead incident investigations and prepare detailed reports with root cause analysis.
  • Track corrective and preventive actions to full closure.
  • Maintain updated incident records and safety statistics.

Risk Assessment & Control:

  • Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Hazard Identification (HAZID), and Risk Assessments prior to operations.
  • Ensure Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems are implemented and followed.
  • Support the development of emergency response plans and drills.

Safety Trainings & Awareness:

  • Conduct safety induction for all incoming personnel.
  • Facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, emergency drills, and refresher training sessions.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through active engagement with rig teams.

Environmental Management:

  • Ensure environmental standards are followed, including waste management and spill prevention.
  • Monitor environmental aspects and report deviations promptly.
  • Support environmental compliance audits.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain HSE logs, safety records, MSDS, and all related documentation.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports for management review.
  • Ensure HSE equipment, PPE, and fire-fighting appliances are available and in good condition.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in an offshore/onshore rig HSE role.
  • Valid certifications: NEBOSH, IOSH, BOSIET, HUET, OSHA (added advantage).
  • Knowledge of drilling operations, rig safety systems, and emergency response procedures.
  • Strong understanding of local and international HSE laws and standards (DPR, ISO, OSHA, IADC).
