Job Description:

  • The Project Manager will be responsible for leading and executing the Youth in Agriculture programme from start to finish.
  • The role involves supporting the design of training content, coordinating trainers and extension officers.

Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Execution (Primary Focus):

  • Lead the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of the youth in agriculture project.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and implementation strategies to achieve set objectives.
  • Coordinate all project activities, including training, mentorship, and job placement.
  • Ensure timely delivery of project milestones within scope and budget.
  • Monitor project progress and resolve issues during execution.

Training & Content Development:

  • Support with the design and development of training curricula.
  • Develop practical learning modules that prepare participants for both farming and the workplace.
  • Oversee creation of training materials and resources.
  • Ensure content aligns with industry needs and labour market demands.

Trainer & Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Identify and engage qualified facilitators and extension officers.
  • Coordinate training sessions, workshops, and field activities.
  • Build and manage relationships with partners and stakeholders.
  • Supervise trainers to ensure effective delivery and engagement.

Strategic Partnerships & Employment Pathways:

  • Develop partnerships with agribusinessesand other organizations for internship and job placement.
  • Facilitate the transition of partnerships from time to time.
  • Organize internship/job fairs, and agric SMEs for trainees.
  • Engage employers to align training with workforce needs

Reporting & Performance Management:

  • Track and report on programme outcomes (number trained, placements, impact).
  • Provide regular updates and reporting to management.
  • Collect feedback and improve programme delivery.
  • Maintain proper documentation of all project activities.

Requirements:

  • Interested candidates should possess an HND / Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in project management, agriculture, and community trainers.
  • Strong background in the agriculture sector with experience working with extension officers.
  • Proven experience facilitating trainings and managing capacity-building programmes.
  • Experience managing multi-stakeholder or field-based projects.

Core Competencies:

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Training facilitation and curriculum development expertise.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead teams and coordinate multiple partners.
  • Strong problem-solving and execution skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience in youth empowerment or employability programmes.
  • Network within the agriculture or agribusiness sector.
  • Experience with internship/job placement programmes.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation (M&E).

Salary

N200,000 - N250,000 per month
