Job Description:
We are seeking a methodical and highly organized Shipment Coordinator I to anchor our logistics operations in Akwa Ibom. This role is the operational "nerve center," responsible for the seamless movement of goods from order processing to final delivery.
You will serve as the primary liaison between internal departments (Sales, Warehouse, Dispatch) and external stakeholders, including government officers and vendors. This position requires a professional who can blend meticulous data entry with the high-level analytical skills needed to optimize routes, verify rates, and resolve complex service complaints.
Requirements:
1. Order-to-Delivery Orchestration
Process Synergy: Coordinate the end-to-end logistics lifecycle by aligning sales staff, warehouse teams, and shipping/receiving units to fulfill customer orders accurately.
Routing & Rate Optimization: Analyze load information to verify the most cost-effective and time-efficient routes, rates, and schedules.
Vendor Management: Synchronize shipment schedules with external vendors to ensure zero bottlenecks in the supply chain.
2. Data Integrity & Reporting
Real-Time Tracking: Consolidate and update Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) and shipping data, ensuring all business units have real-time visibility into cargo movement.
Systems Proficiency: Utilize logistics management software to input data and generate reports that drive operational decision-making.
Work Process Improvement: Apply logical thinking to identify gaps in the current logistics workflow and suggest optimizations for better resource allocation.
3. Stakeholder Liaison & Conflict Resolution
Government Relations: Act as the central point of contact for government officers, ensuring all shipments comply with regulatory standards and documentation requirements.
Customer Advocacy: Investigate and resolve customer complaints regarding service policies, maintaining high professional standards during all inquiries.
Inter-departmental Coordination: Bridge the communication gap between dispatchers and customer service representatives to ensure unified messaging to the client.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Profile
Education: BA/BSc/HND or MBA/MSc/MA in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.
Experience: 10–12 years in logistics operations (despite the "junior" task description, the seniority implies a need for deep regulatory and oversight experience).
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills, specifically for interacting with high-level regulatory and government officials.
Technical: Proficiency in computer-based logistics systems and advanced Excel.
Core Competencies
Logical Thinking: Ability to optimize complex schedules and routes under pressure.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to verifying rates, schedules, and ETA data.
Resilience: Ability to handle investigations and complaints with a solution-oriented mindset.
