Job Description:
Metals, Minerals & Commodity Trading Platform:
- Africa Metals & Minerals Company (AMMC) is seeking an experienced Operations Lead to oversee operational coordination, logistics planning, supplier onboarding, and transaction management within its international metals, minerals, petrochemicals, and commodity trading ecosystem.
- This role is designed for a senior operations professional capable of managing complex commercial workflows, coordinating supplier and buyer participation, and ensuring the smooth execution of commodity transactions across African and international markets.
- The position begins with a six-month performance-based engagement, with the opportunity to transition into a long-term leadership role with corporate benefits, executive responsibilities, and shareholding participation in AMMC’s growing platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee company operations and trade execution coordination
- Manage logistics planning and operational workflows for completed transactions
- Supervise supplier onboarding processes, including documentation verification and licensing validation
- Coordinate operational workflows between suppliers, buyers, and agents
- Maintain transaction tracking, operational reporting, and internal workflow systems
- Ensure operational processes align with compliance-conscious commercial practices
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in:
- Operations Management
- Supply Chain Management
- Business Administration
- Logistics Management
- International Trade
- Engineering, Mining, or Industrial Management (advantage)
- MBA, MSc Operations, Supply Chain, or Project Management is an added advantage
- Professional Certifications (Preferred)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent
- Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) certification
- Professional certification in supply chain management or logistics operations
- Membership or certification with Council of Mining Engineers and Geoscientists (COMEG) is an advantage
Regulatory & Industry Awareness:
Candidates should demonstrate familiarity with governance frameworks consistent with:
- Securities and Exchange Commission Nigeria standards
- Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals Development operational expectations
- KYC, AML, and international trade compliance practices
Strategic Network & Mobility Requirement:
- Applicants should possess strong professional networks within supply chains, commodity trading ecosystems, logistics providers, mining operators, and industrial commodity markets.
- Candidates should demonstrate high professional mobility and readiness for regional or international engagements as required.
