Job Description:

  • We are seeking a highly accomplished General Manager, Projects with 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in structural and civil engineering, specializing in high-rise building construction.
  • The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in structural design, a proven track record of delivering complex projects with top construction companies, and the leadership acumen to oversee multidisciplinary project teams.
  • This role is pivotal in ensuring all projects are executed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall technical and strategic direction for the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple high-rise and large-scale real estate development projects.
  • Review, validate, and provide expert input on structural designs to ensure compliance with engineering principles, building codes, and project specifications.
  • Develop comprehensive project execution plans, schedules, and milestones, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and timely delivery.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team of project managers, structural engineers, site supervisors, and technical staff.
  • Establish and enforce rigorous quality assurance protocols, ensuring all construction activities meet structural integrity standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee project budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-control measures to ensure financial objectives are achieved.
  • Ensure all projects comply with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and planning authority requirements. Liaise with regulatory bodies as necessary.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate technical, operational, and safety risks associated with high-rise construction.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and joint venture partners, ensuring effective communication and relationship management.
  • Provide regular and comprehensive project status reports, including technical progress, budget performance, and risk assessments, to the Managing Director.

Requirements:

  • Master of Science (MSc) degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • A minimum of 10 to 15 years of active, verifiable post-qualification experience in the real estate development and construction industry, with significant exposure to high-rise building projects.
  • Must possess strong technical proficiency in structural design, with hands-on experience using relevant design software (e.g., ETABS, STAAD.Pro, Prokon, or similar).
  • Must have verifiable work experience with top-tier construction companies in Nigeria or internationally, demonstrating exposure to industry best practices.
  • Mandatory professional certifications, including registration with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and membership in the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) . Additional certifications such as PMP are an advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale, complex construction projects from conception to completion, with a strong portfolio of delivered high-rise developments.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to interface effectively with clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders.

 

Benefits

  • For Nigerian Candidates: Competitive salary package of up to N1,500,000 monthly, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • For Expatriate Candidates (Indian or Lebanese): Attractive expatriate package of up to N3,000,000 monthly, plus accommodation and other benefits as applicable.
