Job Description:

  • The Offshore Warehouseman is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining materials, tools, equipment, and consumables on an offshore facility or vessel.
  • The role ensures proper inventory control, safe handling of materials, accurate documentation, and timely distribution of supplies to various departments while complying with company policies, safety regulations, and offshore operational standards.

Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Materials Management:

  • Receive and inspect incoming materials, tools, equipment, and consumables.
  • Verify quantities and conditions of materials against delivery notes and manifests.
  • Store materials properly according to company procedures and safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and stock levels.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and inventory reconciliation.
  • Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Label, tag, and organize materials for easy identification and retrieval.

Issuing & Distribution:

  • Issue materials and equipment to relevant departments as requested.
  • Ensure proper documentation for all issued and returned items.
  • Coordinate timely delivery of materials to operational teams offshore.
  • Track movement of tools and equipment within the facility.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate warehouse records, logs, and inventory databases.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.
  • Update stock management systems and material tracking records.
  • Assist in preparing manifests for cargo movement between offshore and onshore locations.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure all warehouse activities comply with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of warehouse and storage areas.
  • Handle hazardous materials in accordance with safety regulations and MSDS requirements.
  • Participate in safety drills, toolbox talks, and emergency response activities.
  • Use lifting equipment and material handling tools safely.

Equipment & Warehouse Maintenance:

  • Inspect warehouse equipment and report defects or maintenance needs.
  • Ensure proper stacking and storage of materials to avoid damage.
  • Monitor preservation of critical spare parts and sensitive equipment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of OND, HND, or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Previous offshore or warehouse experience is an added advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management systems and warehouse operations.
  • Good computer skill, ERP, Excel and MS word
  • Valid offshore certifications may be required, such as:
    • BOSIET
    • HUET
    • Offshore Medical Certificate

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Good organizational and record-keeping skills
  • Knowledge of inventory control procedures
  • Ability to work under pressure in offshore environments
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Excel, inventory software)
  • Knowledge of HSE procedures and offshore safety standards.

  • Requires standing, lifting, and moving materials regularly.
