About Company:

Sochi Foods Limited is an FMCG company that specializes in producing premium-quality garri brands as well as immensely useful industrial and culinary byproducts from the cassava plant. Established in Ahiazu-Mbaise, in the heart of Eastern Nigeria, our company is founded with the mission to provide consumers with world-class products.

Job Description:

We are seeking a high-caliber Maintenance Manager to serve as the chief custodian of our physical infrastructure. This is a critical leadership role designed for a professional who understands that in large-scale food manufacturing, "Reliability is the foundation of Profitability."

Operating onsite in Imo State, your mission is to design, implement, and manage an airtight maintenance ecosystem that covers both our sophisticated industrial processing plant and our distribution fleet. You will lead a technical team to transition from "reactive repairs" to "predictive excellence," ensuring that machine uptime is maximized and the fleet remains road-ready. If you are a hands-on engineer with the strategic mind to control costs and the leadership grit to manage a 24/7 technical operation, we want you to lead our maintenance department.

Requirements:

1. Industrial Plant & Machinery Governance

  • Predictive & Preventive Maintenance (PPM): Develop and execute a rigorous maintenance schedule for all processing machinery (graters, flash dryers, peelers, and sifting systems) to eliminate unplanned downtime.

  • Technical Troubleshooting: Provide high-level engineering support for complex mechanical and electrical failures, ensuring rapid restoration of production lines.

  • Spare Parts Management: Optimize the inventory of critical spares, balancing the need for availability with the objective of cost control.

2. Fleet & Logistics Technical Oversight

  • Fleet Reliability: Manage the technical lifecycle of the organization’s logistics fleet, ensuring regular servicing, fuel efficiency, and roadworthiness to support raw material intake and finished goods distribution.

  • Workshop Management: Oversee the internal or external workshop activities, ensuring that repairs are conducted to the highest standards and within budget.

3. Systems, Safety & Compliance

  • Safety & Environment (HSE): Ensure all maintenance activities comply with national safety regulations and food industry standards, maintaining a "Zero-Accident" technical workspace.

  • Process Optimization: Audit maintenance workflows to identify inefficiencies and implement technology-driven solutions to improve team output.

  • Budgetary Control: Manage the maintenance budget, tracking expenses against performance to ensure maximum ROI on technical assets.

Qualifications and Skills:

Professional Profile

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Maintenance Manager, ideally within a large-scale manufacturing or food processing environment.

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BSc/HND) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.

  • Certification: Professional engineering certification (e.g., COREN or equivalent) is highly desirable.

Core Competencies

  • Technical Depth: Solid understanding of industrial engineering, automation, and fleet technology.

  • Strategic Planning: Hands-on experience in planning large-scale maintenance operations and shutdowns.

  • Leadership: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to manage, train, and mentor a diverse technical staff.
