Job Description:
As a Logistics Project Manager at Siemens Energy, you are the architect of the "last-mile" success for complex energy infrastructure. You will lead the onshore logistics lifecycle across Nigeria, ensuring that critical components—from sensitive electronics to massive heavy-lift turbines—move from port to site with surgical precision.
In an environment where timing is everything, you will bridge the gap between global procurement and local site execution. You will manage the risks of inland transportation, optimize multi-million dollar logistics budgets, and ensure that every shipment complies with the rigorous standards of both Siemens Energy and Nigerian regulatory bodies.
Requirements:
1. Onshore Strategy & Execution Architecture
Project-Specific Concepts: Develop and deploy logistics concepts tailored to construction sequences, ensuring material availability matches site milestones.
Operational Control: Coordinate the high-stakes interface between port operations, specialized warehousing, and inland delivery schedules.
Milestone Governance: Establish and monitor logistics KPIs, ensuring that the supply chain remains resilient against local operational challenges.
2. Technical Logistics & Heavy-Lift Management
Inland Transportation: Lead the logistics of "Out of Gauge" (OOG) and heavy-lift cargo, including route assessments, securing special permits, and coordinating security escorts.
Warehouse Stewardship: Oversee receipt, inventory control, and specialized preservation for sensitive energy equipment.
Shipment Optimization: Design multimodal strategies (Consolidation, Containerization) to reduce transit times and operational expenditures without compromising safety.
3. Trade Compliance & Stakeholder Synergy
Documentation Mastery: Coordinate the complex requirements for Form M and IDEC (Import Duty Exemption Certificate) to ensure smooth regulatory flow.
Vendor Ecosystem: Act as the primary interface for freight forwarders, warehouse operators, and specialized transporters, leading coordination meetings and performance reviews.
Cross-Functional Liaison: Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, and Site Teams to resolve documentation gaps before they impact delivery timelines.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Background
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Business Administration.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years in project logistics, with a deep focus on the Nigerian onshore landscape.
Sector Expertise: Proven track record in EPC, Energy, or Infrastructure projects.
Compliance Knowledge: Demonstrated expertise in managing Form M and IDEC documentation processes.
Core Competencies
Risk Intelligence: Ability to identify logistics bottlenecks and implement proactive contingency plans.
Analytical Rigor: Proficiency in project management tools and MS Office to track budgets and efficiencies.
Soft Skills: Advanced mediation, communication, and stakeholder management skills for navigating multidisciplinary teams.
Safety Culture: A "Safety First" mindset aligned with Siemens Energy EHS policies.
