Job Description:
We are seeking a high-integrity, data-driven Insurance Analyst to join the Dangote Group’s risk management team. In this role, you will be a critical guardian of the Group’s extensive General and Life Insurance portfolios. You will be tasked with optimizing our insurance spend, ensuring 100% cover precision for our transport fleet, and streamlining the claims recovery process. Requirements:
1. Portfolio Optimization & Underwriting
Policy Placement: Manage the seamless placement of insurance policies and ensure prompt premium payments across all Business Units (BUs).
Asset Accuracy: Execute a "Zero Tolerance" policy for insuring non-operational vehicles; implement rigorous audit processes to ensure only active trucks and vehicles are covered.
Database Integrity: Coordinate comprehensive data gathering to build a high-quality risk management database, enabling optimized coverage and cost-efficiency.
2. Claims Administration & Recovery
End-to-End Claims Management: Oversee the administration of insurance claims, collating all necessary documentation to eliminate delays caused by incomplete filings.
Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary interface between the Group and Adjusters, Brokers, Insurers, and Risk Surveyors to expedite the recovery process.
Claims Ratio Reduction: Proactively follow up with brokers to ensure timely settlements, aiming for a 10% reduction in claims ratios across relevant BUs.
3. Risk Management & Awareness
Reputational Risk: Manage risk activities within the Transport division to protect the corporate image and maintain a strong public profile.
Technical Support: Assist Dangote Plants in the implementation of risk survey recommendations to mitigate operational hazards.
Knowledge Transfer: Design and deliver periodic training programs for staff to increase insurance awareness and improve the quality of documentation across the Group.
Qualifications and Skills:
Professional Background
Education: BSc / HND in Insurance or a related field of study.
Experience: 2–3 years of active experience within an insurance company or a reputable insurance broking firm.
Professional Membership: Membership of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) is highly desirable and considered an added advantage.
Core Competencies
Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of Nigerian insurance laws, practices, and underwriting standards.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze large datasets to identify gaps in coverage or trends in claims.
Stakeholder Management: Exceptional interpersonal skills to manage relationships with internal plant managers and external service providers.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills for high-level management reporting and training delivery.
