Job Description:
Insurance Portfolio Management:
- Manage all insurance policies including life, health, motor, property, liability, and other applicable covers.
- Ensure timely renewal of insurance policies and accurate documentation.
- Review policy terms and conditions to ensure adequate coverage.
Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate insurable risks across the organization.
- Recommend appropriate insurance solutions aligned with business operations.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies and controls.
Claims Management:
- Coordinate insurance claims from initiation to settlement.
- Ensure proper documentation and follow-up with insurers and brokers.
- Maintain records of claims history and outcomes.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and insurance laws (e.g., NAICOM guidelines where applicable).
- Monitor changes in insurance regulations and advise management accordingly.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management:
- Liaise with insurance companies, brokers, loss adjusters, and regulators.
- Negotiate premiums, policy terms, and service-level agreements.
- Provide insurance-related advice to management and departments.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare periodic insurance and risk management reports for management.
- Maintain accurate insurance registers and policy records.
- Track insurance costs and recommend cost-optimization strategies.
Advisory & Training:
- Educate staff on insurance policies, risk awareness, and claims procedures.
- Support management in strategic decision-making related to risk and insurance.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CIIN, ACII, CPCU) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 - 8 years experience in insurance, risk management, or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of insurance products, underwriting, and claims processes.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and insurance management systems.
