NIPCO Gas Limited is a 100% subsidiary of NIPCO Plc, a foremost downstream oil company,which is one of the largest downstream fuel distribution and marketing companies in Nigeria. NIPCO Gas in partnership with the NNPC Gas Marketing Limited (NGML) is distributing and supplying Natural Gas to various Industrial & Commercial customers in Ogun State, Edo State and Abuja FCT and in process of expansion of gas distribution network to Oyo State & Lagos State. NIPCO Gas has a very robust infrastructure of Gas Distribution and caters to customer’s energy need across 22 states and FCT Abuja in Nigeria.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Description:
- Design and implement Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) programme that align with regulatory and company’s requirements.
- Demonstrate broad knowledge of industry best practice and safety standards in order to maintain operational integrity and safety excellence always.
- Support the Location In-Charge to design accident prevention safety programs and create an atmosphere that fosters worker participation and zero injuries.
- Support the workforce and line heads to implement HSE standards in line with the Company’s HSE Policy, Procedures and Systems.
- Establish and implement oil spill prevention and control plan.
- Establish and implement site-specific emergency response plan, supporting the Location In-Charge to plan and conduct periodic emergency drill.
- Perform risk assessments and job safety analyses (JSA) to proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with rig operations.
- Develop educational and awareness training programme to communicate HSE procedures, emergency response plan, safety alerts, lessons learnt, material safety data, process hazard information, and safety plan to workforce.
- Conduct regular inspections and periodic audit.
- Collate, prepare and submit HSE performance metrics to the Head of HSE
Requirements:
- Candidates should possess a B.Sc Degree / HND with 0 - 3 years of work experience.
- Completed NYSC
- Computer literate (PowerPoint, Excel and MS Word)
- HSE Level 3 (Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria) and/or IOSH, NEBOSH certificate(s)
- Young, passionate and talented
- Understanding of Fire Protection in line with NFPA standards and local fire safety regulations
- Knowledge of First Aid and CPR
- Proactive, self-starter with excellent communication and analytical skills
- Ability to commute to the place of assignment daily
- Ability to carry out inspection, incident investigation and facility audit
- Understanding of road safety
- Good reporting and organisational skills.
