Job Description:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HSE Officer to join our operational team in Apapa, Lagos. This role is essential for promoting workplace health and safety standards, ensuring full compliance with local and international HSE regulations, and cultivating a proactive safety culture within our facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying potential hazards, mitigating risks, and maintaining rigorous safety documentation to ensure a secure working environment for all staff.

Requirements:

  • Policy Implementation: Implement, monitor, and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and standard operating practices across the facility.

  • Risk Management: Conduct routine safety inspections, site audits, and comprehensive risk assessments to identify and eliminate workplace hazards.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all site operations remain in strict compliance with current health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Incident Investigation: Perform thorough investigations into workplace incidents or near-misses, preparing detailed root cause analysis and corrective action reports.

  • Training & Awareness: Organize and facilitate regular safety training sessions, induction programs, and awareness campaigns to keep safety top-of-mind for all employees.

  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date HSE records, including inspection logs, incident reports, and training registers.

  • Equipment Oversight: Ensure the consistent and correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and maintain the integrity of all safety equipment on-site.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: B.Sc. Degree or HND in Environmental Science, Safety Management, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience: 1–3 years of relevant professional experience in an HSE capacity.

  • Certifications: Possession of basic HSE certifications (e.g., HSE Level 1, 2, or 3, NEBOSH, or IOSH) will be considered a significant added advantage.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, professional safety reports.

  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and proven ability to solve workplace safety problems efficiently.

Salary

N150,000 Monthly.
