Job Description:

We are seeking a proactive and vigilant Safety Officer to lead our Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) initiatives across project sites and office operations. In this role, you will be the primary guardian of our workforce, responsible for identifying potential hazards before they lead to incidents and ensuring that every team member returns home safely.

The ideal candidate possesses a "safety-first" mindset, combining technical knowledge of HSE regulations with the communication skills necessary to enforce strict compliance on the ground.

Requirements:

Policy Enforcement & Site Supervision

• HSE Implementation: Enforce the company’s HSE policies and safety procedures across all operational areas, ensuring zero tolerance for non-compliance.

• Site Inspections: Conduct regular, documented site inspections to identify hazardous conditions or behaviors.

• PPE Monitoring: Ensure the 100% correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and verify that all safe work practices are being followed.

Risk Management & Incident Control

• Risk Assessment: Perform comprehensive Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and risk assessments for ongoing and upcoming project tasks.

• Incident Investigation: Lead the investigation into any near-misses or accidents, identifying root causes and preparing detailed reports for management.

• Corrective Action: Develop and track the implementation of preventive measures to ensure incidents do not recur.

Training & Reporting

• Toolbox Talks: Deliver engaging daily safety briefings and "toolbox talks" to workers, ensuring safety remains top-of-mind.

• Compliance Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of safety logs, permits to work, and site induction registers.

• Regulatory Liaison: Ensure all operations remain in full compliance with local and international safety regulations and statutory requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience:

  • 2–4 years of direct experience as a Safety Officer.

  • Specific experience in Construction, Engineering, or Industrial projects is highly preferred.

• Certifications:

  • Recognized HSE Certification (e.g., General HSE and HSE Level 1, 2 & 3) is compulsory.

  • NEBOSH IGC or equivalent professional certifications are a significant advantage.

• Technical Knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of safety regulations, hazard identification, and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Proficiency in preparing technical safety reports and incident documentation.

• Core Competencies:

  • Attention to Detail: An uncompromising eye for identifying subtle risks and deviations from protocol.

  • Assertiveness: The ability to stop work or correct unsafe behavior firmly yet professionally.

  • Communication: Strong verbal skills for delivering training and briefings to diverse workgroups.
