Job Description:
We are seeking a vigilant and experienced HSE Officer to oversee the safety protocols for our ongoing rehabilitation projects. You will be the primary on-site authority ensuring that every task is performed in strict compliance with company policies and relevant regulatory standards. Your goal is to maintain a zero-incident work environment through rigorous inspection, training, and proactive risk management.
Requirements:
On-site Supervision: Conduct daily safety inspections and deliver high-impact toolbox talks to keep safety top-of-mind for all field personnel.
Permit Management: Monitor and enforce compliance with Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems.
High-Risk Oversight: Provide direct supervision for hazardous operations, including confined space entries and hot work activities.
Equipment & PPE: Ensure that all staff are utilizing the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and that all safety equipment is in optimal working condition.
Incident Investigation: Lead thorough investigations into any safety incidents, documenting findings and drafting comprehensive safety reports to drive corrective actions.
Emergency Preparedness: Ensure all emergency response procedures are clearly understood, practiced, and effectively implemented.
Documentation: Maintain meticulous HSE records, logs, and compliance documentation.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: A Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas industry or large-scale industrial projects.
Certifications: Must possess NEBOSH, ISPON, OSHA, or an equivalent internationally recognized safety certification.
Technical Knowledge: Strong command of HSE regulations, industry best practices, and safety standards.
Competencies: Proactive risk identification, strong leadership, clear communication skills, and the ability to enforce safety policies firmly but professionally.
