Job Description:

We are seeking a high-caliber Head of Commercial to spearhead the growth and operational excellence of our microfinance portfolio. This is a strategic leadership role based in Ikorodu, designed for a seasoned financial professional who can manage multiple institutions across various locations. You will be responsible for crafting the commercial strategies that drive market expansion, leading high-performing teams to hit ambitious profit targets, and ensuring our operations remain robust and compliant.

The ideal candidate is a results-oriented leader with a deep understanding of the Nigerian microfinance landscape and a proven ability to scale financial services through aggressive business development.

Requirements:

Strategic Growth & Market Expansion

• Commercial Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive commercial strategies aimed at driving sustainable business growth and geographic expansion.

• Business Development: Actively identify and pursue new market opportunities to increase the company’s market share and brand presence.

• Portfolio Management: Oversee the performance of multiple microfinance institutions, ensuring each location meets its specific growth and profitability benchmarks.

Team Leadership & Performance

• Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of branch managers and sales professionals to achieve high-performance standards.

• Target Achievement: Set and monitor sales and profit targets, implementing corrective measures where necessary to ensure organizational goals are met.

• Culture Building: Foster a results-driven culture of excellence, accountability, and superior customer service across all managed locations.

Data-Driven Decision Making

• Market Analysis: Analyze complex financial and market data to make informed business decisions that enhance operational efficiency.

• Regulatory Alignment: Ensure all commercial activities and branch operations comply with microfinance regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.

  • An MBA is highly preferred and will be considered an advantage.

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial banking, microfinance, or a closely related financial sector.

  • A proven track record of managing multiple branches and leading high-performing teams to success.
