Job Description:

We are seeking a highly organized and strategically minded Data Manager to lead our data administration functions in Ikeja. In this role, you will be the architect of our data ecosystem, responsible for creating the policies, security protocols, and collection techniques that ensure our information is accurate, legitimate, and secure. You will go beyond simple data entry to oversee the entire lifecycle of our digital assets from initial collection to high-level distribution.

The ideal candidate possesses a deep technical understanding of modern database systems and the leadership skills necessary to enforce data standards across the entire organization.

Requirements:

Policy Governance & Strategy

• Data Architecture: Create and enforce comprehensive policies for effective data management, ensuring that every department understands how to handle corporate information.

• Collection Standards: Formulate advanced techniques for quality data collection to ensure the adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy of all incoming data.

• Sharing Protocols: Establish clear rules and secure procedures for data sharing with upper management and external stakeholders, balancing accessibility with strict confidentiality.

System Oversight & Security

• Secure Infrastructure: Devise and implement efficient procedures for data handling and analysis, with a meticulous focus on technical security and breach prevention.

• Data Protection: Ensure all digital databases and archives are protected from security threats and potential data losses through robust backup and encryption strategies.

• Optimization: Monitor and analyze the performance of current information systems, evaluating new technologies and upgrades to constantly enhance our data capabilities.

Support & Analysis

• Technical Support: Serve as a subject matter expert for internal teams, supporting the daily use of data systems and ensuring everyone adheres to legal and company standards.

• Reporting: Assist with complex data extraction and the generation of high-level reports when required by leadership.

• Performance Evaluation: Evaluate the health of data systems to discover ways of enhancing them through modern upgrades and integration.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Management, or a related quantitative field.

• Technical Expertise:

  • Excellent understanding of data administration and management functions (collection, analysis, and distribution).

  • Deep familiarity with modern database technologies and information system architectures.

  • Expert proficiency in MS Office Suite (specifically advanced Excel and Access).

• Core Competencies:

  • Analytical Mindset: Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges.

  • Communication: Strong collaboration skills to translate technical data requirements for non-technical stakeholders.
