Job Description:
We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Accountant to join our manufacturing team. This role is critical to our production efficiency, focusing on the rigorous management of daily financial transactions and the complex supply chain associated with pharmaceutical production (specifically IV bags and fluids). You will be responsible for the end-to-end oversight of raw materials including chemicals, plastics, and fluids ensuring that every unit of production is accounted for and that our cost structures remain optimized.
The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of cost accounting within a factory setting and the technical ability to reconcile production data with financial performance.
Requirements:
Cost Accounting & Inventory Management
COGS Tracking: Precisely track costs of raw materials, direct labor, and manufacturing overhead to determine the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS).
Inventory Auditing: Conduct regular audits of inventory accuracy across three stages: raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished infusion products.
Stock Monitoring: Manage the high-volume inflow of chemicals and plastics, ensuring inventory levels align with production schedules.
Production Analysis & Financial Reporting
Efficiency Reporting: Analyze production workflows to report on gross margins and identify opportunities for cost reduction or efficiency gains.
Financial Closing: Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of Profit and Loss (P&L) statements.
Reconciliation: Perform diligent bank reconciliations and manage cash flow to support continuous manufacturing operations.
Operational Administration & Compliance
Accounts Management: Oversee the full cycle of Accounts Payable (vendor invoices for raw materials) and Accounts Receivable (customer invoicing for finished goods).
Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all financial procedures comply with GAAP, company policies, and relevant ISO or QMS (Quality Management System) standards for manufacturing.
Import Processing: Utilize your knowledge of import permit processing to facilitate the acquisition of specialized raw materials from international suppliers.
Budgeting: Develop operational budgets and provide financial forecasts to guide long-term production planning.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience:
Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment (specifically pharmaceutical or chemical sectors) is strongly preferred.
Practical experience in handling complex inventory structures (Raw, WIP, Finished Goods).
Technical Skills:
High proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Tally).
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and financial modeling).
Core Competencies:
Analytical Rigor: The ability to dissect complex data sets regarding margins and overheads.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Nigerian import regulations and manufacturing quality standards.
Attention to Detail: Precision in verifying production logs against financial entries.
