Job Description:
We are seeking a visionary and results-oriented General Manager to lead our banking operations in the heart of Lagos’s financial district. In this pivotal leadership role, you will be responsible for revolutionizing our traditional and digital banking frameworks, driving aggressive income growth, and ensuring long-term institutional sustainability.
As the General Manager, you will oversee the strategic direction of the bank, balancing asset creation with robust risk management. We are looking for a leader who can navigate the complexities of the microfinance and banking sectors while championing financial inclusion and digital transformation.
Requirements:
Strategic Growth & Income Generation
Revenue Drive: Strategically drive the bank’s income through targeted asset creation and liability generation activities.
Innovation: Lead the development and execution of growth strategies, including product innovation, market expansion, and premium brand positioning.
Digital Transformation: Execute a comprehensive strategic plan to modernize both traditional and digital banking operations, ensuring a competitive edge in the fintech landscape.
Financial Management & Risk
Performance Oversight: Take full accountability for financial performance, including profitability, liquidity, and capital adequacy, ensuring all financial targets are met.
Risk Frameworks: Develop and implement rigorous risk management frameworks to safeguard the bank’s assets, reputation, and stakeholders.
Compliance: Foster a culture of transparency and accountability, ensuring strict adherence to all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain high-level relationships with regulators, investors, community partners, and key industry players.
Team Leadership: Inspire, lead, and develop a high-performing management team, fostering a results-driven corporate culture.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
MBA or an advanced professional degree is highly preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 6 years of progressive leadership experience in the financial services sector.
At least 4 years in a senior management role specifically within microfinance or commercial banking.
Technical Expertise:
Deep understanding of banking operations, financial management, and risk assessment within the microfinance sector.
Strong knowledge of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regulations and compliance requirements.
Advantage: A strong background in digital banking, fintech integration, and financial inclusion strategies.
