Job Description:
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Financial Controller to anchor our financial operations and governance framework. This role is far more than a reporting function; it is a critical leadership position responsible for ensuring the integrity of our financial health, optimizing cash flow, and providing the data-driven insights necessary for senior management to make informed strategic decisions. You will be the primary custodian of our internal controls, regulatory compliance (IFRS), and budgetary discipline. Requirements:
1. Financial Governance & IFRS Reporting
Reporting Integrity: Oversee the end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting cycles, ensuring 100% compliance with IFRS and local regulatory standards.
Audit & Tax Leadership: Coordinate internal and external audits and manage all tax compliance activities to ensure the organization remains in good standing with statutory authorities.
Statement Analysis: Prepare and interpret comprehensive financial statements to provide a transparent view of the company's fiscal position.
2. Strategic Planning & Cost Control
Budgetary Mastery: Lead the annual budgeting and rolling forecasting processes, acting as a disciplined monitor of departmental performance against financial plans.
Profitability Optimization: Identify and support cost-control initiatives and analyze variance data to recommend improvements in operational efficiency and profitability.
Dashboarding: Develop and maintain sophisticated financial dashboards that translate raw data into actionable strategic insights for the C-suite.
3. Treasury & Risk Management
Liquidity Oversight: Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to ensure the organization meets its obligations while maximizing investment opportunities.
Internal Controls: Design, implement, and monitor robust internal financial controls and risk management measures to prevent leakage and fraud.
System Stewardship: Serve as the functional lead for accounting systems, ensuring optimal utilization of SAGE Evolution.
Qualifications and Skills:
Mandatory Credentials
Professional Certification: Full professional qualification (ICAN, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is mandatory.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. (An MBA or Master’s in Finance is a significant advantage).
Experience: Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in financial management, reporting, and audit coordination.
Technical & Leadership Skills
Software Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency in SAGE Evolution or similar advanced ERP systems.
Analytical Depth: Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex tax and regulatory environments.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead finance teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders through clear communication and professional authority.
