Job Description:
Primestix Construction is seeking a meticulous and strategically minded Finance Manager to lead our financial operations. In this role, you will be the guardian of fiscal discipline, ensuring that our large-scale construction projects remain profitable, liquid, and compliant. You will act as a high-level business partner to the COO, bridging the gap between site-level project accounting and corporate financial strategy.
The ideal candidate is a chartered accountant who thrives in the fast-paced, high-stakes environment of project-based industries and possesses a sharp eye for cost control and risk mitigation.
Requirements:
Project Accounting & Cost Control
Project Oversight: Manage end-to-end project accounting, including Work-in-Progress (WIP) tracking and revenue recognition.
Cost Discipline: Monitor project budgets against actual expenditure, flagging variances early and working with Project Managers to implement corrective actions.
Waste Mitigation: Establish robust cost-control systems to eliminate financial leakages, waste, and inefficiencies across all active sites.
Financial Planning, Reporting & Analysis
Statement Leadership: Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards.
Modeling & Forecasting: Develop sophisticated financial models, budgets, and forecasts to guide executive decision-making.
Performance Insights: Provide detailed reports on project profitability and cost variances, offering data-driven recommendations to improve margins.
Compliance, Taxation & Treasury
Statutory Excellence: Ensure 100% compliance with Nigerian tax laws (VAT, WHT, CIT, PAYE) and manage timely filings and regulatory audits.
Cash Flow Management: Plan and oversee liquidity to ensure all ongoing and upcoming construction projects are adequately funded.
Working Capital: Optimize receivables and payables cycles while maintaining strong relationships with banks and suppliers.
Risk Management & Internal Controls
System Strengthening: Enhance internal control frameworks to prevent fraud and financial misstatements.
Audit Readiness: Conduct periodic internal audits and ensure proper segregation of duties within the finance function.
Payroll Oversight: Supervise accurate and timely payroll processing, including all statutory deductions.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education & Professional Certification
Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
Mandatory Certification: Must be a Chartered Accountant (ICAN, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).
Experience & Industry Knowledge
Seniority: 5–8 years of progressive experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
Sector Expertise: Prior experience in Construction or Real Estate is highly preferred.
Regulatory Mastery: Deep understanding of Nigerian financial regulations and tax legislation.
